Contact form does NOT get sent even though it says it has. I have downloaded “WP Mail Logging” and I see the emails when I go to the logs. If I resend in “WP Mail Logging” the email gets sent.
Please help as this was working before and this is a new thing and I have Enfold forms throughout the website. I have added a login for you guys to look for yourself in the private.
Not sure to add to another or start my own so have done both.
February 5, 2018 at 5:50 am #907724Hey merlinmedia,
Did you try the suggestions listed here? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/my-contact-form-is-not-sending-emails/
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 5, 2018 at 6:11 am #907731Yes as explained and I have given you the logon details. Please see for your self
February 5, 2018 at 6:16 am #907734all others except for the last which has not been updated in the last 4 WP upgrades work fine… its just not you plugin… mind you it WAS working a while back when I created it
February 5, 2018 at 7:14 am #907771Hi,
There’s an error “Could not instantiate mail function.” in the WP Mail Logging panel if you check the email. According to the forums, this is probably an issue with your host or some other server issue.
// http://docs.mailpoet.com/article/56-could-not-instantiate-mail-function
Is it working if you remove the other email address (dal***@merlin*****.com.au)?
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 5, 2018 at 7:34 am #907781I placed dal***@merlin*****.com.au in the contact form to test as I use a different host company. I do not see anywhere “Could not instantiate mail function.” Please show me where?
and if I send via the WP Mail Logging Log “Bulk Action” in the “Resend”… all email are sent. Again if I just place a link or use Contact 7 they get sent
February 5, 2018 at 8:34 pm #908175Hi,
the issue seems to be clear from your hosting provider and we are afraid we cant do anything else from our side.
They have to help you out solve it – or then you have to use a third party SMTP like mailgun to help you move from there the forms.Best regards,
BasilisFebruary 5, 2018 at 10:59 pm #908258The clear factors are as follows:
1. They was working before.
2. If I place a email link on the page it works
3. If I use Contact Form 7 it works
4. I installed “WP Mail Logging” which does log the out going emails and if you choose to resend via that plugin emails come through successfully,So all the above works EXCEPT using your (Enfold) Conact Form. Ismael said that it stated in “WP Mail Logging” that an error said “Could not instantiate mail function.” but I can not find that or has he been able to show me.
All I ask is proof that your Contact is not working because of the hosting and as you can see from the above to the average person everything seems to be the opposite. I have also giving you full control to see for yourself.
So please show the proof that it is my hoster and not what everything else has stated.
February 6, 2018 at 7:58 pm #908756Hi,
The proof is that on any other hosting of the 180K installations it is working, so that is a proof, right?
But – going forward with it, better to try locate the issue to your installation. So what we ask is to get a deeper knowledge from your hosting provider what is the problem as the reply “Could not instantiate mail function.”
is related to the hosting provider.Best regards,
BasilisFebruary 6, 2018 at 11:29 pm #908858Very funny but does not answer the question Basillis. I have the Same host, the same WordPress Theme (Enfold) and I add teh contact form in both and one sends mail and the other does not. The question is why?
The other question was where had you seen “Could not instantiate mail function.” ????? Still not answered.
So before you start writing a smart ass answer can you answer the questions please could “I” need more information (like the answer to my second question) before I can go to my hoster.
Thanks in advance
February 6, 2018 at 11:41 pm #908864My Hoster ask if I could use a SMTP plugin which would solve the problem and I asked why. Take a look at the great customer service they supplied in answering what im sure they also thought was a silly question. Maybe good for you to take note…
Hello Dallas,
Thank you for contacting us. I’m happy to help you with this.
It’s not very reliable to send emails using the PHP mail() function. The emails can take some time to be delivered and sometimes can create errors (like the one you were receiving before). There are several things that can cause that problem (PHP version, permissions, PHP settings), but the fastest way to resolve to resolve email problems is to use a SMTP plugin (which can send emails faster and it’s very reliable).
I’m glad that you were able to resolve this issue. Let us know if you need help with anything else.February 8, 2018 at 6:41 am #909589Hi merlinmedia,
Thank you for sharing. Sending emails is not really a theme functionality and while theme offers this basic functionality, we always encourage users to use SMTP, there are plenty of plugins out there.
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 8, 2018 at 6:50 am #909594I would strongly recommend that you remove YOUR Contact plugin because if I buy a three and use it I expect everything within the theme to work including the Avia Layout Builder (thats where the “Contact Form” widget is) or at the very least support it. Thats like buying a car and then when you bring it in cause it will not start the dealership says “sorry we didn’t make the engine so its not supported or better idea is to put in another engine”.
I also thank Victoria that you should read before you write as you are clearly not in the loop with your statement.
February 8, 2018 at 9:41 pm #909951Hi,
if you read their reply, you will notice that they just say ” we might have some server issues or configuration which we do not want to dig and find what it is, so just install that plugin “.
php mail() is been used over 10 years, from many applications even before WordPress come alive. WordPress it self just uses mail() inside the wp_mail() function…
Anyway, if the plugin option does solve the problem for you, then we are happy for that.Best regards,
BasilisFebruary 8, 2018 at 10:37 pm #910008So… buy our car but please use another cause the other has been around for 10 years.
The point is that you have a product. I buy the product. Product not work. You say use another product. I say I should be using your product and not use another cause I paid for yours.
But I have made my point and you have made yours and where you stand with the solution. I will not be using anything made by you guys again and if anyone of my co workers ask for a good theme I will say the following:
“Mostly it works but on some bits it does not. Support are welll not interested in fingering out what is the problem with there product and are borderline rude. So I would suggest another Theme.
Enjoy guy I am another gone to another theme because of you
February 10, 2018 at 10:57 pm #910661Hi,
