Hi!
On http://www.fitzwanger.nl the contact forms are not working. I’ve added this:
function change_cf_from() { return " (Email address hidden if logged out) "; } add_filter('avf_form_from', 'change_cf_from', 10);
No luck. I’ve added an SMTP plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ and the test option in this plugin is sending e-mails. But still no mails from a contact form.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
DanielDecember 29, 2015 at 5:11 pm #558165I’ve setup a superfresh WP install with Enfold and a demo import. Still the forms aren’t working. Detauls in the private content

DanielDecember 30, 2015 at 5:27 pm #558501Hi!
You are currently using WordPress 4.4 and older version of Enfold. There was an issue with WordPress 4.4 and Enfold contact form which was addressed in the latest version 3.4.7. Please update the theme firstly – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Cheers!
YigitDecember 30, 2015 at 8:42 pm #558554Hi, I’m using a new version of enfold and WordPress 4.4 and have the same issue. What’s funny is that I remember contact form working on previous version.
December 30, 2015 at 9:25 pm #558563Hi!
Yes tork, with an update of WordPress and a change on the core code, some stuff broke. That is happening on major releases and most of the times, when there is no backwords compatibility. The Issue has happend with many plugins also.
Can we please see your web site URL?

BasilisDecember 30, 2015 at 9:42 pm #558569Sure. But I must add that contact form actually does work. But with a significant delay. I’ve just received the messages I sent to my email via the contact form almost a hour ago. Before that I received them almost instantly.
December 31, 2015 at 9:46 am #558683Hi! I’ve updated both live site and test site to 3.4.7 of Enfold, tried the mail function again but no luck.

DanielJanuary 4, 2016 at 9:50 pm #559505Hi!
Actually Enfold is just using WordPress’ standard contact form and not anything special. Does it work when using a default WordPress theme instead?
Cheers!
AndyJanuary 5, 2016 at 9:28 am #559778Hi Andy,
I changed to TwentySixteen, placed a comment and received an e-mail confirmation: http://www.fitzwanger.nl/test/2014/08/24/a-nice-entry/

DanielJanuary 5, 2016 at 1:24 pm #559905Hey!
I’m not really sure if this is going to help but upon searching for a fix regarding the contact form, a few of the posts suggested that you have to create a (Email address hidden if logged out) email. They said that some of the servers check if the wordpress email exist. Please retain the avf_form_from filter in the functions.php file after creating the wordpress email.
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 5, 2016 at 1:47 pm #559920Hi Ismael,
Well, e-mails are sent and received in all cases except when I use the Enfold contact form. If the server would check the existence of this e-mailaddress, none of my e-mails should be delivered.
edit: I created the e-mailaddress but no luck.

January 5, 2016 at 10:01 pm #560146Hey!
Hi you have not activated the enfold theme. Still coming to your issue.
I have created a new contact form please add this shortcode in any text area on the contact page and check it out.
[contact-form-7 id="522" title="Contact2"]
You need to make sure that your contact form looks similar.

VinayJanuary 5, 2016 at 10:34 pm #560157Hi Vinay,
The theme was changed when Andy asked :) I changed it back to the enfold theme, added your shortcode and the contact form 7:
January 6, 2016 at 12:16 am #560179Hi!
I see ” (Email address hidden if logged out) ” in contact form setting emails usually require a minimum of 3 letters. (It could be throwing up the error because of this so I have removed this )
I have created a new forms http://www.fitzwanger.nl/test/test-contact-form/ and tested it the email goes out fine.
Please check your inbox for this email (Email address hidden if logged out)
If you don’t find it please check spam.If there is still an issue in contact form please try an email with gmail or yahoo instead of your personal domain.

VinayJanuary 6, 2016 at 10:21 am #560385Hi Vinay,
We are now testing Contact Form 7. As mentioned before, this works fine. What works fine:
– Enfold theme + Contact Form 7
– Enfold theme + default comment form
– TwentySixteen theme + Contact Form 7
– TwentySixteen theme + default comment formWhat doesn’t work:
– Enfold theme + Enfold contact form
– Enfold theme + Enfold contact form with @gmail.com addressCan we try to fix this together? Anything else I can do?

DanielJanuary 7, 2016 at 11:48 pm #561615Hey!
Enfold does not use any special contact form but WordPress’ default settings. So what about:
– TwentySixteen theme + WordPress’ Contact Form
?Best regards,
AndyJanuary 8, 2016 at 9:13 am #561855Hi Andy,
I used – TwentySixteen theme + default comment form to test that, since WordPress does not have a default contact form afaik.

DanielJanuary 8, 2016 at 12:16 pm #561902Hi!
Wordpress does have a default contact form and Enfold is using it. See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

AndyJanuary 8, 2016 at 2:01 pm #561957Hi Andy,
I have copy pasted this shortcode, but it doesn’t convert to a contact form. I read on that page: “Available on WordPress.org – If you’re running your own copy of WordPress.org, you can use Jetpack to get the same functionality.” So I understand it’s not a default contact form. I don’t run Jetpack; in fact I don’t have any plugins running.

January 8, 2016 at 2:22 pm #561966Hi!
you are right. You need to install a contact form plugin, however Enfold is just using WordPress’ default settings for sending and receiving emails. If this does not work then it is usually caused by an issue with your server. Ask your host about it. Why not use Contact Form 7 instead?

AndyJanuary 8, 2016 at 2:30 pm #561972Hi Andy,
Thanks for answering. I must say that although I see that you’re willing to help, I don’t feel well supported with this issue. With my other issues I feel very well helped. I think it’s strange that you recommend to use an alternative contact form plugin. We have looked together at all opties. All different contact forms all other contact forms work, except for 1: the standard contact form of Enfold, which makes pointing at an issue on the server not an option. I would like to use the Enfold contact form because I think it’s a really user friendly contact form, one that my client will also understand.

DanielJanuary 8, 2016 at 2:40 pm #561979Hi!
the thing is that for thousand of customers Enfold’s contact form is working fine. Could be hundred of different things causing it especially on your end. As already said: usually it’s blocked by host/server, that is why I told you to contact them about it, maybe they can help you. We can’t do much about it, if we can’t reproduce the issue on our end.
Regards,
