Hi,
I am suffering from errors using the built-in Enfold contact form, which only seems to send me e-mails at the first attempt to send the form. If I try further no e-mail is sent whatsoever and the success message is not displayed. I checked with Firebug the server response to this POST request and the whole html of the same contact page is returned.
I’ve tried all the tips mentioned in this article before with no succesful results: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/my-contact-form-is-not-sending-emails/
Plus I installed the Contact Form DB plugin to find out if submissions would be saved even though no e-mail was received, and it turns out the submissions are not being stored at all. I also enabled the WordPress debugging and no debug file was created, and checked the Apache log files and no server errors have been generated.
I’m quite lost at the moment and I could really use a helping hand to get it working as it is an issue of critical importance and I will need it to work perfectly all the time, or at least if I don’t get the email for whatever reason I can still check the submissions via the Contact Form DB plugin.
Thanks in advance
January 29, 2016 at 2:34 pm #574556Hi!
Enfold’s contact form won’t work with the plugin mentioned, if you need that feature i’d suggest you switching to a specialized form plugin like Contact Form 7, the Enfold form styling can be easily ported to CF7 if needed.

JosueJanuary 29, 2016 at 7:40 pm #574780Hi,
That’s not what they claim in their plugin’s info page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7-to-database-extension/
Plus, I checked it works and stores the submissions in which there hasn’t been any error on the Enfold contact form. For your information the contact form started failing before I installed that plugin and I didn’t write this topic to get support on someone else’s plugin. I only installed the plugin to find out if the submissions could be stored even though the email sending failed.
If there’s no other way I’ll have no other choice than using Contact Form 7, but I’d rather get support on the Enfold theme and its functionality.
Thank you very much
February 1, 2016 at 2:30 pm #575765Could you guys help me out? I’m stuck in here and don’t know what to do next. I really think this contact form should be able to work fine and it’s not. I need support on this.
Thank you in advance
February 2, 2016 at 7:06 am #576264Hi!
What is the current email that you use in the contact form? You can try this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/cimy-swift-smtp/
Use the following options:
Sender name: [XYZ] Sender e-mail: (Email address hidden if logged out) Overwrite the sender only for the WordPress default [ (Email address hidden if logged out) ]: YES SMTP server address: mail.mydomain.com Port: custom port > 26 Username: (Email address hidden if logged out) Password: ********** Use SSL or TLS?: NO
The login credentials above are not working.
Cheers!
IsmaelFebruary 2, 2016 at 2:46 pm #576441The contact form is set to send an e-mail to my gmail account. It works once and then if you try any more times it just doesn’t work and doesn’t show the success message.
I’ve now tried that particular plugin but it didn’t work. I’ve tried some other SMTP sending plugins though, and they all worked sending emails from other WordPress functionalities such as password recovery, smtp sending test, etc, but the contact form was not being sent.
I really need to get this working, please.
Thanks
February 4, 2016 at 5:54 am #577572Hi!
Make sure that your host doesn’t block remote addresses such as gmail, hotmail, yahoo etc. Please try to use an email with a local or domain address such as (Email address hidden if logged out) . It will help if you can contact your hosting provider regarding the issue because they will know if there are any limitations in the server’s email settings.
If you use the WP Mail SMTP, make sure that you set the correct smtp settings for the gmail account.
Can I use this plugin to send email via Gmail / Google Apps
Yes. Use these settings: Mailer: SMTP SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com SMTP Port: 465 Encryption: SSL Authentication: Yes Username: your full gmail address Password: your mail passwordRegards,
IsmaelFebruary 11, 2016 at 1:01 pm #581589Hi,
After carrying out some testing I found out the only SMTP sending plugin that did the work was Wp Mail Bank, all the others just didn’t send the form details through SMTP and they kept making the form fail at sending e-mails to gmail addresses, which apparently were being blocked by my hosting provider.
You may now close this thread.
Thank you very much
