HI,
I’m currently running WordPress 4.8.4 with Enfold theme 4.2.
About a month ago, I upgraded my WordPress to 4.8.x and my site started performing VERY slowly. It literally crawls and times out constantly. I get the error “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected.” constantly and creating a single posts now takes hours.
It’s not my wifi connection or internet speed.
I’ve had multiple calls with HostGator (cloud hosting) and my developer has optimized all he can.
Is it possible the Enfold theme is causing issues? If you look at my site performance report on https://gtmetrix.com/reports/lodgingleaders.com/dbXlXQr4, you’ll see many references to javascript and CSS specific to the Enfold theme.

If you attempt to disable all active plugins you have running, does this issue persist?
Best regards,

Please send us a temporary admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also, how can we reproduce the error?

To reproduce the issue, just login … you’ll see how slow it is in general.
December 16, 2017 at 8:51 pm #889678Hi lodgingmetrics,
I see the images issue and deferring JavaScript. Those are done with plugins.
Wordpress Dashboard was loading for about 3 minutes on my side, and this has nothing to do with Enfold. Of course, I am far away, but it’s not supposed to be like that.
Php7.0 can give you a boost in speed.Best regards,
