I imported the Coming Soon Demo and customized the wording in the editor. However, when I view the site, it is not showing up at all.
I have not entered my domain name in wordpress settings setting as yet – I am using the temporary URL generated by my server. Could this be the issue? I am using http://041552d.netsolhost.com/WordPress . I have also tried the URL without /wordpress.
Suggestions?
December 22, 2017 at 7:43 pm #891689Hey bmatth1,
Did you receive any errors when importing the demo? Perhaps you just need to set the correct home page. https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Jordan ShannonDecember 22, 2017 at 8:25 pm #891712Under Enfold Theme Options Front page settings is COMING SOON PAGE (Select which page to display on your Frontpage. If left blank the Blog will be displayed)
And where do you want to display the Blog? COMING SOON PAGEDecember 23, 2017 at 6:30 am #891794Hi,

RikardDecember 23, 2017 at 3:47 pm #891814I have decided to use wp maintenance plugin – this works fine. However, I need to install the 2017 demo. Can I do this over the Coming Soon demo? Is it necessary to remove the Coming Soon completely before importing the 2017 demo?
December 23, 2017 at 4:16 pm #891817Also – when editing the coming soon page, the advanced editor works fine, but when I click on the default editor – there is nothing there.
I am not sure this theme is working correctly.
I would also like to limit posts on the home page to only those that have a certain category – such as home page.December 23, 2017 at 5:56 pm #891833Why is my favicon not showing up?
December 23, 2017 at 7:07 pm #891841Can I use the advanced editor in conjuction with the default editor? For example – use the advanced editor, and switch to the default editor in text mode and see the coding and adjust and add text, etc.
December 23, 2017 at 8:25 pm #891848When using the default editor, why is the short code [shortcode ] text and brackets showing up in the Visual section. I believe this should be only be in the text section and the visual would show what it looks like.
December 23, 2017 at 8:32 pm #891851When using the editor, it appears that html tags show up in the text section and not in the visual section. HOwever, there are NO SHORTCODES available in the text section – only in the visual section – shouldn’t these be available in the text section and NOT seen in the visual section? My goodness – HELP!
December 23, 2017 at 8:35 pm #891852WHen you are in my wordpress backend, please check out all pages and you will see what I am talking about.
December 23, 2017 at 10:28 pm #891866Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, I will try to answer these questions:Can I use the advanced editor in conjuction with the default editor?
No, you can not use them together.
html tags show up in the text section and not in the visual section
Yes this is how the text section works, but the shortcodes will not show there, this is by design.
You can enable the Avia Layout Builder Debug to view and edit the shortcodesWhen using the default editor, why is the short code [shortcode ] text and brackets showing up in the Visual section
Yes you can see the shortcodes, but this is due to an incompatibility between the default editor and the advanced editor. Editing the shortcodes this way will brake the codes.
WHen you are in my wordpress backend, please check out all pages and you will see what I am talking about.
Yes I see, but I believe this is because the code was broken by using the default editor, I have tried to recreate your home page and it is working correctly. I have also set the new page as the frontpage to show it works.
Please check.
Please note that your questions may have been put to the end of the list each time you added to your post, causing us to not see it right away as we are trying to work the oldest first. I hope I have answered your questions, let us know if we can be of more assistance.
Thank you for using Enfold.Best regards,
MikeDecember 24, 2017 at 1:42 am #891899So this means that I can only use either the advanced editor or the default editor and absolutely not mix the two. If I even open one or the other while using one, then the code in the page will break.
I guess I would have to disable the advanced editor, as much as I would like to use it.
I assume that ALL shortcodes will work if I do not mix the two?
This sounds like a terrible bug that would greatly slow down progress.
December 24, 2017 at 4:12 am #891905Ok – Please check out this page – I cannot enter data into the contact form.
December 24, 2017 at 4:10 pm #891945Ok – I changed the font on the contact form and all is good.
I think I may go ahead and give this theme a try – using the advanced editor or the default and not mixing the two in any way.
One thing please – on the contact form: http://041552d.netsolhost.com/WordPress/ I need to change the submit button to Green (the hover color) How do I do this? I would like the viewers to see a green submit button with the black text – SUBMIT.
Once I get this, I will probably go with the 2017 Demo. How do I do this since I have installed the Coming Soon Demo. Can I write over this one? Or should I use the plugin mentioned in the control panel to clear everything out. Sorry – please let me know what this plugin is – hard to find the link again.
One more question – Is there a way to change backgrounds, headers, etc for a specific page / post? AND – Am I able to display only posts with a specific category on the home page?
Thanks,
BobDecember 24, 2017 at 8:48 pm #891957Ok I found a reply in the forum that shows css to show submit button with color – works great.
I am still working on showing only posts with certain category on home page.
December 26, 2017 at 7:28 pm #892057I would like to switch from the coming soon demo to 2017 demo. Is it necessary to clear everything out or will the switch take care of everything?
