    Hi Kriesi team

I use on my page a color section with a background video.
This works in Firefox and Chrome but not in Safari Browser. One of our customers also said that it does not work even in firefox.

I look forward to your feedback.

    BR,
    Ingo

    Hey!

Do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately so we can look into it?

    Cheers!

Oh yes I have OS X version 10.9.4
Maybe you have an other solution for this problem?

    Hey!

Unfortunately I’m also having no issues seeing the video with the exact same specs:

Hm okay but you might have another idea for the reason that it does not work for me and our customers? I understand that it is difficult for you to understand if it works for you but I’d appreciate any advice :)

    Hey!

Sorry for the late reply! I asked @josue to take a look at your website on his MAC. Let us wait to hear from him.

    Hi!

Try linking whomever is having an issue viewing the video directly to the video on Youtube. The only other thing I can think of is that whomever is having issues may not be able to view the video as rendered from the source. If its region locked, mobile locked etc.

    Regards,
    Devin

    Hi Devin,

    thank you for your answer.
The video directly on youtube can see each of the people. They also can see it on other browser for example firefox or chrome.
It just does not work on safari.
So I think we can rule out that it is region locked.

    Ingo

    Hi!

The section goes black for a few seconds but then the video does load, tested in Safari 7.0 / OS X 10.9:

    Best regards,

    Hi Josue,

thank you for your effort but unfortunately does not help me.
I have now 8 computers with Safari on which it is not running.
I need a solution. I’ve tried different things.
I have downloaded the video, uploaded in our own youtube channel and linked it. Unfortunately, the same result.
Then I have downloaded the video as .webm and .mp4 and then loaded it on our webspace. It was interesting that it now runs in Safari and Chrome but not run in firefox.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,
    Ingo

    Hi!

Again, we checked it on all major browsers and the video is showing up fine. I’ll ask Kriesi to take a look. Please wait for his response.

    Cheers!

    Hi there,

so I have understood that it all works fine on your computers.
For us and many others, it does not work unfortunately.
Do I understand right that we do not have a solution?
It is a pity that we can not explain to our customers now why it does not work or to have a solution.
    At designated Brwoserversions we kept.

    Regards,
    Ingo

    Hi!

Right now we can’t provide a solution because we simply can’t reproduce the problem. Without any errors, etc. we don’t know what causes the issue on you client’s Mac and how we can fix it. We forwarded to Kriesi who will try to reproduce it on his PCs and Masc when he comes back from his vacation and then (hopefully) we’ll have a definite answer.

    Regards,
    Peter

    Hi,
I was able to solve my problem.
Now I have uploaded a webm and mp4.
Also, I’ve added the following part in my htacces. (which has ultimately works apparently)

    AddType video / ogg .ogv
    AddType video / mp4 mp4
    AddType video / webm .webm

It seems to work everywhere now :)
    Thanks anyway.

    regards,
    Ingo
