Hi Kriesi team
I use on my page a color section with a background video.
This works in Firefox and Chrome but not in Safari Browser. One of our customers also said that it does not work even in firefox.I look forward to your feedback.

July 8, 2014 at 1:36 pm #288494Hey!
Do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately so we can look into it?
Cheers!

DevinJuly 16, 2014 at 10:24 am #291985Hm okay but you might have another idea for the reason that it does not work for me and our customers? I understand that it is difficult for you to understand if it works for you but I’d appreciate any advice :)
July 21, 2014 at 1:32 pm #293835Hey!

IngoJuly 21, 2014 at 4:34 pm #293900Hi!
Try linking whomever is having an issue viewing the video directly to the video on Youtube. The only other thing I can think of is that whomever is having issues may not be able to view the video as rendered from the source. If its region locked, mobile locked etc.

DevinJuly 21, 2014 at 5:50 pm #293932Hi Devin,
thank you for your answer.
The video directly on youtube can see each of the people. They also can see it on other browser for example firefox or chrome.
It just does not work on safari.
So I think we can rule out that it is region locked.Regards,
IngoJuly 22, 2014 at 1:15 am #294101Hi!
The section goes black for a few seconds but then the video does load, tested in Safari 7.0 / OS X 10.9:

JosueJuly 22, 2014 at 10:16 am #294250Hi Josue,
thank you for your effort but unfortunately does not help me.
I have now 8 computers with Safari on which it is not running.
I need a solution. I’ve tried different things.
I have downloaded the video, uploaded in our own youtube channel and linked it. Unfortunately, the same result.
Then I have downloaded the video as .webm and .mp4 and then loaded it on our webspace. It was interesting that it now runs in Safari and Chrome but not run in firefox.Any ideas?

IngoJuly 23, 2014 at 7:33 am #294798Hi!
Again, we checked it on all major browsers and the video is showing up fine. I’ll ask Kriesi to take a look. Please wait for his response.
Cheers!
IsmaelJuly 31, 2014 at 2:55 pm #298245Hi there,
so I have understood that it all works fine on your computers.
For us and many others, it does not work unfortunately.
Do I understand right that we do not have a solution?
It is a pity that we can not explain to our customers now why it does not work or to have a solution.
At designated Brwoserversions we kept.Regards,
IngoAugust 3, 2014 at 8:15 am #299277Hi!
Right now we can’t provide a solution because we simply can’t reproduce the problem. Without any errors, etc. we don’t know what causes the issue on you client’s Mac and how we can fix it. We forwarded to Kriesi who will try to reproduce it on his PCs and Masc when he comes back from his vacation and then (hopefully) we’ll have a definite answer.

PeterAugust 18, 2014 at 10:20 am #305604Hi,
I was able to solve my problem.
Now I have uploaded a webm and mp4.
Also, I’ve added the following part in my htacces. (which has ultimately works apparently)AddType video / ogg .ogv
AddType video / mp4 mp4
AddType video / webm .webmIt seems to work everywhere now :)
Thanks anyway.regards,
