Hi,
I am trying to make an image scale proportionally to full width responsive like it does in sliders. I found this instruction link below but cannot get it to display the image any larger than its original width. I tried the code given on this page in Quick CSS and in Child CSS but no effect?
Set maximum container width in general styling to 100%. Still nothing.
And, what is ALB?

April 30, 2018 at 11:24 pm #949262Hi, thanks. But that doesn’t seem to make any difference. the image remains restricted to its original width. I am trying to have it on top of a frame with more text etc as though the stuff underneath was on top of the image (but in the extended black area below).
April 30, 2018 at 11:26 pm #949263Did you set the image as a background and Stretched to fit? It won’t stretch/cover, otherwise, without some CSS.
April 30, 2018 at 11:32 pm #949265No, it is in an image container. The problem with setting it as the background was that the following headings and content underneath then appear on top of the image, not in the black space below it? Can you see the page?
April 30, 2018 at 11:42 pm #949268I’m not seeing any links.

May 1, 2018 at 12:01 am #949274I see what you mean now. I’m mobile at the moment, so I’ll tinker here soon. But, what if you put the grid row with background and below it place a color section with black background and your text?
May 1, 2018 at 12:07 am #949275Thanks. I tried that but it doesn’t work. The grid background image still doesn’t fill the width and also it has to be set to a fixed or minimum pixel height to display the image. That doesn’t work for responsive resizing as the height then remains fixed and the apparent space gets bigger and bigger as the width of the viewport gets less. Only the color section does this properly, but also has that same problem if the image is the background and not an image element. Just that I cant seem to size it to scale to edge horizontally – otherwise everything else works as desired.
May 1, 2018 at 12:27 am #949280I did what I recommended, but using a 2, Color Sections and no Grid Row. It’s as good as you’re going to get and if you absolutely need to have the entire image visible at all times, that will take some CSS and/or image editing.
May 1, 2018 at 12:34 am #949282Thanks, yes that is close but I dont like the way that responds to changing the viewport window. On a very large screen (5K) the image all but disappears!
I just don’t understand why they provide code that seems to promise to do this but actually doesn’t like that page linked in my first post. Also its not like this is a strange and unusual concept, it seems to be pretty common in other areas like the sliders. I am really struggling with customising this theme. The built in layouts are great but the moment you want to customise you get stuck in all sorts of problems. I am beginning to fear that I have chosen the wrong theme here as this is something I have often done in the theme I usually use. It just didn’t have the convenience of the built in portfolio stuff that I wanted to use.
I am also having huge problems with adding google fonts not working (their code), especially in the layerslider where the preview and output can be radically different.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help me

May 1, 2018 at 12:38 am #949284No problem. Happy to help. This particular thing should definitely be easier, but in my experience, I have to throw CSS at it.
If you’re on Facebook, feel free to join a group I started for Enfold-related tips, tricks, support, etc. It’s not affiliated with Enfold in any way, at this time.
May 1, 2018 at 8:50 am #949430Enfold support staff – Is this not possible?
May 3, 2018 at 6:07 am #950477Hi patricknh,
Can you please specify which element you’re struggling with?
Could you please attach some screenshots of the issue?
Best regards,
VictoriaMay 3, 2018 at 11:20 am #950665Hi Victoria,
I am afraid I gave up on this theme as a waste of money. I cannot work asking support questions and spend 4 days or more trying to get something simple right with the time delays in getting responses. This theme is obviously built for programmers who are happy to spend ages on css overrides to customise the most simple things (like changing a font or padding) — not designers who need to customize design elements entirely etc. All the fonts are completely messed up, especially in layerslider. And its all in enfold – switch to another theme, all fonts and widgets are correct!! Took me less than four hours to recreate a week’s worth of work in Divi theme and not one support question needed. So enfold, nice ready built themes, horrible to impossible (unless programmer) if you want to customise!
While your support gives correct answers (eventually) it is all so specific that one cannot learn from answers given to others so one must wait for answer, days and days and days. Note that your support response (other than co-user) came only after 4 days here!! How is a person supposed to work with tis themes if response for help takes so long?
I wish I could get a refund. I am a most unhappy and angry customer.
May 4, 2018 at 10:22 am #951492Hi patricknh,
Sorry to hear that. Maybe we did not get you right or you’re trying to approach an issue from the wrong angle.
If it not working for you, you can request a refund for the theme from Envato.
Best regards,
Victoria -
