Hi, I noticed this issue all over the forum but never found a solution.
Is there anyway you can see why my page (specifically the parallax sections) are so jumpy? I’ve disabled all plugins which didn’t do anything.
The best page to see this is here: http://staging.loopcreative.co/redseal/product/
February 3, 2016 at 3:19 am #576809Hi Slade!
It looks fine on my end. Do you mean why when you scroll down it jumps down in increments instead of a smooth scroll? That’s just a browser quirk. You’ll notice in Firefox the increments are smaller than in chrome. It’s the same for all websites.

ElliottFebruary 3, 2016 at 3:24 am #576810Hi Elliot! Thanks for the response.
Yes, that is what I mean. The Color Sections with background images set to Parallax are not smooth on scroll at all. The odd thing is they use to be and I can’t tell what changed. I’ve tried to disable and revert everything back but nothing works. I’ve looked at it on Firefox, Safari, and Chrome and it looks identical (or close to) on all 3.
February 3, 2016 at 5:46 pm #577204Hey!
The issue you are mentioning has nothing to do with enfold but it is how the browsers will scroll when you scroll the page using the mouse wheel depending on the resolution of the screen and the amount of page the mouse wheel has to scroll depends on the settings in your system.
However you can add a smooth scroll feature to your site using one of these plugins https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=smooth+scroll

VinayFebruary 4, 2016 at 12:01 am #577422Hi Vinay,
Sorry, but I completely disagree. I have tested on several browsers and it is the same issue. I have other websites built with Enfold that uses parallax and I do not have this same issue. More importantly…it was scrolling fine up until a few days ago.
I have installed a premium ‘smooth scroll’ plugin but it did nothing.
Something changed within the last few days on this site to make it all of a sudden start acting “jumpy”. I can’t figure out what caused it.
February 5, 2016 at 11:08 am #578416Hey!
Have you installed any plugins just before the issue started? Please deactivate all plugins and check the site should scroll properly.
What browser are you testing this on? It looks like your browser is running a lot of js or some browser extension is interacting with the page during scroll. Deactivate browser extensions too and check for the issue please.
Cheers!
Vinay KashyapFebruary 5, 2016 at 11:11 am #578420Hi Vinnie!
I’ve already tried deactivating all plugins but that didn’t help.
I have tried this on Firefox, Safari and Chrome all with the same results. I have also asked other individuals to take a look and they see the same thing.
February 7, 2016 at 8:29 am #579144Hi!
The whole site feels a little heavy so I deactivated the smooth scroll plugin. It improves a little but the parallax effect is still jumpy. I noticed that there are multiple videos on the page so I created a test page without them but it didn’t improve the performance. Please install a cache plugin like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache then minify the scripts with the BWP Minify plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/bwp-minify/
UPDATE: I deactivated the “activateMenuItem” script and the page becomes faster.
Cheers!
IsmaelFebruary 7, 2016 at 10:01 pm #579254Ok, I will give those a try. Question – since the site is still in development is there a way with the minify plugin to turn “unminify” it? So it isn’t so cumbersome to add custom css?
February 8, 2016 at 11:14 pm #579962Hey!
Usually there is an option in the caching plugins for development mode but if you cannot find that option in the plugin it is always a good idea to deactivate all caching plugins in development mode as it will not reflect the new CSS changes unless the cache is cleared.
