Hi Guys
I have noticed a consistent issue with the color section. On several pages “Tours” for example I have a color section with a text block within the color section. What seems to happen after a few days when returning to update, the controls that allow you to clone, edit, save disappear. If you click on where the controls should be, you can edit, but cannot save any changes.
I had to build a complete new section on another page, save it, go back and drop it in. Then the several color sections below also with text blocks vanished, so I saved them and dropped them back in deleting old broken ones. Serious amount of inconvenience.
So far this has happened on two pages, contact and tour page. I am now saving everything in templates due to this bug.
Can you explain what the issue is ?
Thank you
Andrew

May 6, 2018 at 7:54 am #952254Hi Andrew,
Sorry for the problems, usually that happens when there is open markup in the content of the page, and it seems to be the case on your Tours page as well:
<b>Sessions must be booked in advance and deposit paid!
The b tag is left open as you can see, and that tends to break the Layout Builder. Please try changing that text to this instead:
<strong>Sessions must be booked in advance and deposit paid!</strong>
If it still doesn’t work after that then please try to go through your content to see if there any more open tags in there.
Best regards,

Thanks for the reply. The color section where the markup has been left open, would that effect that section only or the entire page. The reason I ask is, it was the section below with the tour dates that was giving the issues, I see no issue with it at present but I have removed the image that was originally there. When I think about it on both occasions the issues have arisen when there has been a background image in the color section, then a text block within the color section.
Kind Regards
Andrew
May 7, 2018 at 3:34 pm #952720Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the feedback. If there is open markup, the Layout Builder will usually break at the element just under the element with the open markup, and everything below it will just be removed once you save. We are working on a solution for this but it might take a while since we likely need to rebuild the whole Layout Builder from the ground up. Let us know if you should need any further help on the topic.

Appreciate the help, I now know what to look out for as that was exactly what was happening as you explained.
