Hi guys,
As you know, I love your theme. And I love the ability to do video backgrounds in color sections. But a recurring problem I’d like to see if I can fix is that they all (so far) seem to “flicker” when they reach the end of a video clip and loop back to the beginning. The area flashes black. it’s NOT in the videos themselves – I have check them frame by frame. Is there something I need to do at the YouTube end, or in my Enfold sites, to prevent this? It’s pretty disturbing visually.
I’ve included an example in Private Content below.
Any and all ideas, even crazy ones, welcome :)
Thanks,
MSeptember 13, 2015 at 10:51 am #502274Hi mterrian!
I am on Firefox windows 10 and I could not notice any issues with that.
Can u please provide us with some more details? Or maybe a screenshot or something….Best regards,
BasilisSeptember 13, 2015 at 5:22 pm #502350Hi Basilis, thanks so much for your response.
I was trying Firefox, Safari, and Chrome on Mac OSX, and Firefox, Chrome and IE on WIndows, and they all did the same thing….showing a black field for a second when the video starts to loop.
I did some research online and got the idea to trim the video and also remove the audio track, to make for a smaller file size. This seems to be reducing the flicker to just a tiny little blip, and so I believe I am on the right track. I’ll continue to try to make it smaller, and I think it will fix it.
I thank you for your attention and help!!
Margaret

September 14, 2015 at 4:55 am #502443Hi Margaret,
I see what you mean, not sure how to fix that besides what you are already doing though. Could you try to make the video smaller to see if that helps?
Thanks,
RikardNovember 13, 2015 at 7:50 pm #535700Hi Margaret & Rikard,
I got the same problem with the black flickering when the video jumps from end to start.
I already reduced the video file size to 645 KB, no audio track included – still a black frame …
Did you solve the problem in the meantime?Best regards

ClausNovember 27, 2015 at 3:59 pm #543678Hey!
Sorry for the late reply!
Can you please firstly update Enfold to the latest version 3.4.4 – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/?
I will check if this is already reported and if it was not, i will.
We will probably include a fix in upcoming update. Please keep the testing page and if you do not mind, please post login credentials here privately :)Best regards,
YigitNovember 27, 2015 at 5:10 pm #543723Hi Yigit,
I updated to the latest from themeforest downloadable version which still holds the version number 3.4.3 but the video issue still appears.
Please find more details in the private content.greetz

YigitJanuary 26, 2016 at 3:06 pm #572143Hi support,
is there anything going on with solving this issue?
Thanks for a reply & best regards
ClausJanuary 29, 2016 at 9:39 am #574390Hey!
There is an Error on the page because the code you have entered is not correct some where some tag is not closed. Recreate the page from scratch and it works fine. We have 1000’s of sites running with fullscreen video background but did not notice this issue.
Your theme is out of date please update the theme via FTP.

VinayJanuary 29, 2016 at 1:06 pm #574469Hi Vinay,
sorry, I can’t follow you – as I am not the only one to notice the issue (see the starter of this thread) and Yigit says above:
We have reported the issue to our devs. Please kindly wait to hear from us
– I recreated the page (see link in private content)
– enfold version is 3.4.7The only errors I get are:

ClausJanuary 29, 2016 at 6:03 pm #574718Hey!
seems you have an issue with a 3rd party program (font awesome). Please contact the author for support about it.
Cheers!
AndyJanuary 29, 2016 at 6:17 pm #574735Sorry, but the issue of this thread is NOT about the above mentioned errors
but referring to the video’s short black screen when the video restarts.
(I only mentioned the errors referring to Vinay’s reply where he says “… some where some tag is not closed …”
and I answered this aspect.)Could you please consider the issue of the video’s short black screen when the video restarts?
February 1, 2016 at 8:10 pm #575998Hi!
You are still using Version Number is 3.4.3 some files are corrupt so you are not able to see the update button and also it is possible reason for the video issue please check the link below for info to update the theme via FTP.

VinayFebruary 2, 2016 at 1:16 pm #576400Hi Vinay,
I think I am NOT using 3.4.3 but 3.4.7 as you can see in the screenshot (link in private content below).
Maybe you are still following the link in my early posts of this thread???
It leads to a former test installation and is not the one I am talking about …PLEASE use the link below to take a look at the video issue.

ClausFebruary 3, 2016 at 9:17 am #576984Hey!
We checked your issue but there is a conflict in some plugin. Please see screenshot below.
To find out which plugin is in conflict please go to Admin > Plugins > Installed Plugins >
Active and Select all Plugins
then from Bulk Options Deactivate allOnce you do this you will be able to edit the color section.
To catch the culprit plugin enable one plugin at a time and refresh the page or try to access the color section from backend.
Cheers!
VinayFebruary 3, 2016 at 12:19 pm #577065Hm … which “screenshot below” do you mean?
And: there is so far no problem to edit the color section …Are you really looking on the same page?
Does your answer really belong to this thread?February 3, 2016 at 10:57 pm #577402Hi!
When we try to check the options set in advance layout builder for the video section this is the screen that appears. May I know if the username you created have full administrator role ? It is possible one of the security plugins is blocking us from viewing the advance layout builder options for the color section or the Farb Section.

Vinay KashyapFebruary 5, 2016 at 1:08 pm #578467I took a screen recording to show that on my side editing the color section
is possible and that I cannot reproduce any error you are talking about …
Please find the link below …February 9, 2016 at 9:44 pm #580596Hi!
screen recording does not work for me. I click play but nothing happens. Can you check please?
Same for the video jumps. I click your link, but there is no video …

February 10, 2016 at 12:18 pm #581042Hm … I checked it on several computers … everything is in place and works …
Maybe you did not recognize the slowly moving and blending of the circles in the video and you think it´s an image?I did an additional screen recording of the page (links below) …
February 10, 2016 at 12:38 pm #581048Hey!
we already reported this to our devs, as written in previous posts. Not sure if it can be fixed easily though. Feel free to hire a freelance developer for this jobs here: http://kriesi.at/contact/customization and otherwise thanks for being patient.
Best regards,
AndyFebruary 14, 2016 at 2:03 pm #582937Hi Andy,
yes, of course I know that on November 27, 2015, Yigit posted
We have reported the issue to our devs. Please kindly wait to hear from us. Thread will be on hold until you reply.
2 month later I only asked if there is anything new going on with solving this issue.
From this point on your colleagues treated this my posts if the issue was a new one.I don’t think the issue has anything to do with customization and hope that you will come to a solution in the nearest future …
Thanks and best regards
