    Hi,
I think there is something going wrong with enfold theme after last update.

When I create a page (called home) , I try to add a background video like i normally did in the past 2 days (Color section and background => add video url) After saving and going to the actual page, I get to see 2 video players, 1 with the play/pause and volume controls but a black screen, and the next one with the actual video, and they are tiny and are placed on the left side of the screen.

The only time i get it done is if I do it from the pre-built Home Page. But i want to start everything from scratch.

Is it something that can be fixed, OR AM I THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED :D ?

    Hi,
Did you update your version of the theme from an older version, or was this one downloaded from Theme Forest as the latest version?
I’m just checking if there is a chance that a old file was left in the theme directory.
I see the background video is not working in your color section, but on my localhost with v4.3.2 it is, so I believe there is something else at work here.
I don’t see any errors in the console, and the video element does work correctly. I wonder if the dropin plugin from Godaddy is causing this error, or if there is something odd in your .htaccess file?
Please copy your .htaccess file as a text file and post a dropbox link to it so we can see. Also please try deleting your theme folder and uploading a new copy from Theme Forest, just in case there was a error in the last upload.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hello,

I updated it using WordPress Update option ( from 4.3.1 ).

How do i find the .htaccess file?

    Hi,
You will need to use FTP and show hidden files in your root directory. Or you could post your FTP access in the Private Content area and we will look.

Just adding this: When reset the theme (wordpress database reset) and import demo (Startup business) . If I edit the pre-defined home page and add background video, IT WORKS! .

But if I delete all pages including “HOME” , and add a new page to create a Home page from scratch, I then get the problem with the 2 small videos.

    Hi,
I tried following these steps, fresh “Startup” demo installed on v4.3.2, deleted all pages, added new Home page with color section and background video url set to 100% page height. Working as expected.

Since your theme was updated, please try deleting the enfold theme folder via ftp, then upload a new version that you download from Theme Forest.
Another option could be to disable Enfold Theme Options > Performance > JS & CSS file merging and compression.

    Best regards,
    Mike

I disabled both and still not working.
I just tried to reinstall and without deleting any page, i just added another page and added a background video, and IT WORKS. But after deleting all pages and starting a new page from scratch -> Colour selection -> background video. I get the 2 small video problem.

    Hi,
Can you please include a admin login & ftp access in the private content area, I’d like to run a test.
Your admin login link above is not working, can I reinstall everything or remove anything as a test?

    Best regards,
    Mike

I couldnt find FTP but using SFTP (i dont know if that’s something wrong)

    #958769

And yes, you can re-install all you want.

    #958883

    Hi,
Thanks for the SFTP access, it worked fine, but we will also need admin access to your site.
The login link inked above doesn’t work.
Please post admin login in the Private Content area.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Oh you mean from my site

    #959103

    Hi,
Thanks for the login, I tested by moving all of the pages to the trash, and then created a new homepage, added the color section and background video, which seems to work correctly.
Please check, if you which you can restore the other pages from the trash.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hello,
I think I found the problem.

When I permanently delete all pages and create from scratch new ones, then I get color selection video background problems. Can that be something wrong? Or I am supposed to keep those pages for the theme to work?

    #959268

    Hi,
No you can delete all the pages, you don’t need to import any of the demos, you could just start building.
Let me ask, are you having a issue with the page I created? I thought the color section background video was working correctly.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #959384

IT was but when i permanetly deleted all the pages from the thrash, it broke.

And now I’m having “is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500” page when trying to go to my dashboard or site.

I’m really starting to get a headache xd

    #959423

Oh wait , its fixed now/.

    Hi,

Oh one more thing, when use the video hosted in wordpress (I already uploaded) , and go to my site, it only plays once. But when i visite the site from my brother’s site, it loops normally. Is that normal?

    #959975

    Hi,

But when i visite the site from my brother’s site, it loops normally

Can I ask if you meant in this statement that when viewing from you brother’s “computer” it loops normally?
If so please compare version numbers of Chrome.
With my Chrome on Windows 10 (v66.0.33) your video is not looping, but with Firefox & Edge the video loops.
I believe Chrome has made a change that has broken this but I have not proved it yet. For example, I have read lately that browsers are talking about stopping all video auto play if the video contains sound, and I think Safari is the first to start this, I’m not 100% on that, I’m going by memory.
Nonetheless, I don’t believe this is a Enfold error.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Oh sorry,
I ment “computer” :) . So isn’t there a way to fix this? If it isn’t, you guys already helped me a lot!!! We can close this post i think :)

    Hi,
Can you tell us what version of Chrome your brother is using? You said his is looping correctly, right?
Right now I’m guessing this is the issue.

    Best regards,
    Mike
