Hi – working with this great theme I have come across a small issue – and I have not succeeded in finding a solution in theese comprehensive support pages:
I want to translate the field names like “Search results”, “Comments” etc into danish. I have installed the plugin codestyling-localization, but I would prefer to only use it in front end – thus keeping my backend english. Is that possible? Or is it possible to just select some of the phrases/translations needed for any specific purpose? (I do have succeeded with some translations via search.php and searchform.php and also some css – but still a long way to go which is why I considereded the codestyling plugin instead)
very best regards, you are a great team

JosueMarch 29, 2014 at 8:00 pm #244864Hi Josue – thanks for very quick respons :)
Please let me understand this right: I presently have an english WP-installation. I want a danish frontend, i.e. field names like “Search results”, “Comments” in danish. In order to have that I have to install and use the plugin codestyling-localization. And after that I have to indtall and use the wp-native-dashboard plugin to get my backend back to english. Is that what you mean? None of theese plugins do the trick by itself, cause this seems a litte forth and back again?
Thanks for your support
March 29, 2014 at 8:43 pm #244882Hey!
As far as I know there are some fields that are set from the WordPress language setting which the theme also just uses the default output for. For those items you would need to re-set there values manually since you aren’t using the same WordPress language setting as you are using on the front end.
You can read more about WordPress localization here: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
Cheers!

March 30, 2014 at 12:55 pm #245091Hi guys
For some reason there were no danish po mo files on my server which (since I am new to this) caused some confusion. Uploading po mo files and adding danish language to the wp-config.php solved my problems in frontend – and the changes in backend are minimal causing no problems. In my upload of danish WP version there were both “da_DK” po mo files AND “admin-da_DK”. I only installed the “da_DK” po mo files. Could that be the reason why there were just minimal changes in backend? I.e.: Are there individual frontend and backend po mo files? Besides from that question issues resolved. Thanks
very best regards
