Hey there,
My website is for a service based business and I want to take some time off over Christmas. I’m looking for any suggestions on how to show that I’m closed to visitors just over the Christmas period, I already have some nice badges ready to go and I was thinking where to put these and one idea was to have a low opacity overlap image with an out of focus Christmassy image and then the badge over it saying we’re closed over the holidays and any click of tap anywhere on the screen will close it and you can continue to use the site as normal. Is this easily achievable through Enfold out of the box at all?Any feedback appreciated :)

So like a splash page then. You could create the page using the blank template and set this as your homepage in the Enfold settings.
Other than that you could try a plugin out, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-splash-page/.

Is a splash page a whole different page that you need to click and it then loads another page, or is it just a welcome pop up that’s over the main page? I don’t want it to be a different page, just a quick welcome message that can easily be closed while the site itself is already loaded underneath it, so I guess a mix between what you see when you visit: https://www.groupon.ie in that you can just click out of it and see the main page, but I’d also like it a bit fancier and to perhaps have the background page blurred or mixed in with another low opacity image such as Christmas lights or something :)Is that a Splash Screen so, or would it be something else?

It’s a separate page. If you just want a popup then there are lots of plugins out there that can do that, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-popup/.
