Dear guys,
I set up a website with a lot of images in it (as it is for tourism) and know I realised that there are created 15-9 different image sizes for each picture I uploaded which of course I would not need and blows up storage space.
Reading here in the support forum i learned that I could prevent Enfold from creating so much images sizes on upload by doing this:
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/disable-image-generation-in-17-different-sizes/#post-527765
So if I get this right, this prevents creating those image sizes for future upload, right? Or I just prevent the sizes I dont need from beeing created. But my question is – what would be the best way to clean up already created ones? Just deleting unused images via FTP?
Are there any more things to take into consideration?
Thank you very much,

Sorry for the late reply, for your situation I would recommend using the Simple Image Sizes plugin, you can set the image sizes that you don’t want to use to zero, and then use the built-in image regenerate to fix the images and thumbnails. This is better than deleting the images via ftp, because it will also fix them in the database.Best regards,

but one question: does this really delete unused images or does it just define new picture sizes for future upload?
I tried it on my local installation and I get the impression, that old image sizes are still there…?Kind regards, Tanja
December 7, 2018 at 5:52 am #1041921Hi,
It defines the new picture sizes for future uploads, and removes the sizes you don’t want from the database, the image file are still there, which you can delete via ftp at that point if you wish.Best regards,
