Hi folks,
we’re running four WPs, which we started with Enfold from the beginning.
But now for a fundamental relaunch of an existing, huge WP-Website on a new installation we plan to use Enfold as the new theme. Now there’s on basic question: Which chronological order would you recommend as the best for the installation(s)?
a. Install a fresh WP
b. Install the plugins we need and used before
c. Install Enfold
d. Import the content (with tons of posts, pages, images and nextgen-galleries)Or a-c-b-d? Or a-b-d-c?
And would you recommend a special content importer plugin?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Thanks for contacting us!
For most projects we recommend using a child theme – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/. I think for huge projects, it is a must.
You can simply install WordPress, then install Enfold parent & child theme, activate child theme, install needed plugins and then import your content. For migrating databases, we recommend this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-migrate-db/

thanx for your help! One last question in this context: Which plugin would you recommend to regenerate thumbnails an other images sizes from the old to the new theme?

thanks a lot for your great support. On last question:
At the moment we’ve running NextGEN Gallery (with 90 galleries and roundabout 2.800 images), but when we change to Enfold, I think, we don’t need it anymore. Is there a tool or plugin (or any other idea) to convert or “reimport” the galleries?Thanx & best regards
StephanMarch 2, 2017 at 8:46 pm #754556Hi,
You can continue using NextGEN Gallery on Enfold.
Also, you can use a plugin such as this one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-attachment-export/ to migrate your media library :)Best regards,
