    Hi there,

    I dowloaded the child theme from the documentation but am getting following error after installing it (both .zip installation via WP and FTP uplaod)

    “Das übergeordnete Theme fehlt. Bitte installiere das übergeordnete Theme „enfold“, da du Child-Themes sonst nicht nutzen kannst.”

    The parent theme is installed and activated.

    Hi Yigit,

    thanks for the quick reply. The website is hosted on a Telekom Server if this might help. I encounter different problems with this host.

    das Thema Child Theme ist mir nicht neu. Die Serverstruktur ist wie du sie beschrieben hast. Der .zip upload in WordPress funktioniert ja ebenfalls nicht.

    Actually it doesn’t matter where the theme is hosted as long as it meets the minimum requirements.
    But please – if you mentioned ftp – look to your folders if the child is a sibling to the parent theme! That is a fundamental basic requirement.

    What is the content of your child-theme style.css : please post it here.

    Hey,

    Your parent theme was not installed correctly. I deleted it via FTP and re-installed it and then activated your child theme. Please review your website :)

    Thanks for the help. I see you managed to install everything correctly.
    Can you tell me, what the problem was?

    All I remember is that I’ve encountered a 500 server error when I tried to install the .zip, so I uploaded the theme via FTP afterwards.

    Hi,

    Your installation was inside additional “enfold” folder as following
    /wp-content/themes/enfold/enfold/
    however it should have been
    /wp-content/themes/enfold
