I’ve used a child theme with enfold about many times, but I can’t seem to get this one to connect properly — it looks like there are no styles; like the css isn’t connection properly somehow (see screen grab: https://screencast.com/t/cMFm0qnEs).
I’ve tried flipping back and forth, with all kinds of tweaks to the settings; disabling all the plugins, clearing the wp cache, disabling the enfold performance merge options, etc. I have a feeling it’s something silly, but I just can’t pin it down.
The site’s live, so I can’t leave it that way for you to test, butI’ll include some credentials in the private content.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
September 19, 2018 at 12:24 pm #1011769Hey sky19er,
Thanks for the login details, though we will need to see the actual problem in order to help you out. Is it ok if we activate the child theme for 1 or 2 minutes?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 19, 2018 at 12:29 pm #1011775Yes, please do — sorry; should’ve mentioned that you could. Thanks!
September 19, 2018 at 12:36 pm #1011782Hi!
The (dynamic) stylesheet is missing. Please use ftp and connect to your server. /wp-content/uploads/ and rename the dynamic_avia folder to dynamic_avia_bak. Then go to the theme options panel and resave the settings. Enfold should then recreate the folder and all dynamic stylesheets.
Cheers!
PeterSeptember 19, 2018 at 12:56 pm #1011796OK, I tried that but it doesn’t seem to be working. The folder doesn’t seem to be recreating. I tried moving the old folder up to the root, too, FYI. Now neither child nor parent is working, of course.
September 19, 2018 at 1:45 pm #1011804I didn’t hear back from you for a bit, so I restored that dynamic_avia folder and reactivated the parent theme, so the site doesn’t look broken in the time being. Please let me know if/when I can try something else. Thanks.
September 19, 2018 at 11:20 pm #1012052Hi,
can u also provide us with FTP details please?
Best regards,
BasilisSeptember 20, 2018 at 9:24 am #1012180Sure… FYI, I just tried switching to a child theme on another site and ran into the same issue. Maybe something about a recent update… or, of course, could be some new combination of things I’m doing/using.
Thanks!

September 21, 2018 at 3:09 am #1012576Hey!
The theme fails to regenerate the dynamic stylesheet. I had to rename the enfold.css file to enfold_child.css manually to make it work temporarily. Please deactivate the plugins and then change any option in the General Styling panel. Check if the adjustment is applied in the frontend.
Cheers!
IsmaelSeptember 21, 2018 at 12:20 pm #1012730Thanks, but I followed your instructions — disabled all plugins and changed the logo area primary color from red to blue and it doesn’t seem to have any effect on the front end.
September 24, 2018 at 5:00 am #1013472Hi,
Yes, I can confirm the issue. Please try to upgrade PHP version from 5.6.36 to 7.2. Let us know if it helps.
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 24, 2018 at 3:21 pm #1013658OK, I updated to 7.2, disabled all plugins, and changed the logo area Primary and Highlight colors to black, but the change had no effect on the front-end. Any other ideas?
Thanks.
September 24, 2018 at 8:34 pm #1013821Hey, I just noticed/remembered today about the option to set a Breadcrumb Hierarchy for portfolio options — that’s the only reason I was trying to run a child theme on this site — because I thought I had to implement this code to handle the issue with my portfolio items not showing the right breadcrumb hierarchy: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/portfolio-items-shows-wrong-category-in-breadcrumbs/#post-185969.
So, I switched back to the parent theme and renamed that css file in the dynami_-avia folder to enfold.css, but now my theme’s still not registering changes to the General Styles pane.
Can you help me get back to where I was?
September 25, 2018 at 5:28 am #1013982Hi,
renamed that css file in the dynami_-avia folder to enfold.css
The folder name should be “dynamic_avia”. Please rename it again.
You can add the breadcrumb modification in the parent theme’s functions.php file temporarily.Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 25, 2018 at 10:16 am #1014085Sorry, that was just a typo — the folder name never changed — just the css file. So, any idea how I can get my options panel functioning again? And what’s all this stuff in this dev folder — https://screencast.com/t/d7vNGkuwHSZ2 — is that stuff you guys put there? Can I get rid of all that now?
And I can handle the breadcrumb issue with the Breadcrumbs Hierarchy option in the Portfolio Items — I don’t need that function.
