    I want to change the hover and active states of the main menu backgrounds but to date have not been able to target the css correctly.
    Can you tell me what class I should be changing?

    Hey themeforesttony!

    Thanks for getting in touch with us!

    You can actually go to Advanced Styling in the theme options and select the elements Main Menu Links to edit. Apply a background color and check the checkbox to only apply on mouse hover.
