    Hi,
    ist there a way to change the upload location für all the media files one uploads into the WP theme?

    At the moment I use the default location in wp-content/uploads and it works fine, but the performance for the customer is not so great since my connection is not the fastest.

    What I do with my other Web-Content is to push it to my external ftp-server and link to those files.

    I already do that with video content and it works great if I am able to use the ‘Add from URL’ option in the upload area.

    But e.g. for the sliders things have to be uploaded and go into above path.

    Is there a way to change that and have everything uploaded to a different Server that I could refer to by a subdomain? So that every pic or other content in WP is pulled from that subdomain server instead the default path?

    Hi MacSpecialist!

    No, afaik you can’t use an external server or different url for the uploads folder by default. Maybe there’s a third party plugin which adds such a feature to wordpress – I recommend to search the plugin repository here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/
