I would to change the order of elements on the Blog Post Element in ALE to look like the following. Note that I would like to reverse the order of Author and Date and replace the ” / “between author and date with this character ” |”.
Category
Featured Image
Title
Excerpt
Author | Date
Also, I have set the blog display in the Reading settings to show excerpt but my category archive pages are still showing the full text of each blog.
You guys are awesome!
Thank you
Hey williamslyd,
You would need to create a clone of the ALB element, put it on your child theme and from there, edit the view.
There is no easier way to work that out.
Best regards,
Basilis
Thanks,
Can’t I edit the files that control this element? I want my client to be able to use the blog post element wherever she wanted to once I hand the site over to her. I would need for the blog post element to pull the post data (title, author, etc) automatically.
I saw these instructions fin the support forum (https://kriesi.at/support/topic/how-to-edit-blog-posts-element/):
What is the current blog style of the blog post element? If you set the style to grid, you need to modify the config-templatebuilder > avia-shortcodes > postslider.php file. If not, then you have to modify the includes > loop-index.php file.
Is postslider the correct file to edit if I am using the grid style for the blog element? I assume I would just have to make sure that we always choose the grid mode.
Thanks!
Hi williamslyd,
Yes, you assume correct, and if you modify the post slider to look the way you need, if your client decides to use it elsewhere the changes will be there too. Something to keep in mind.
Best regards,
Victoria
