Category page layout

Hello,

I’m trying to make another layout for the archive.php (category page). Now I have 3 columns, but I want more columns. I also want the thumbnail size to be smaller. I changed this in the archive.php, but it isn’t working:

Furthermore I only want to show the post title on the category page, i managed to do that by putting in this code, can you confirm it’s the correct way?
