Thank you for the link. Edit the images in the Media library then add the image description in the Caption field.

IsmaelApril 18, 2016 at 6:44 am #616079Hi Ismael. Yes, I have done this but still, it does not show a caption in the lightbox photo display. I have the caption and it appears in “hover” over the gallery. But when the lighbox is expanded there is no longer a caption. There is only the #/## photo number in the bottom right corner. please advise. thanks.
April 19, 2016 at 3:43 pm #617479Hi!
this is WordPress’ default behavior and has nothing to do with the theme. Go to your Media Library and edit the image in question. The title you enter for the image is the element which will appear in the lightbox.
Best regards,
AndyApril 19, 2016 at 11:05 pm #617754have filled in all of the fields. there is no caption shown when viewed in the lightbox. Not on desktop nor in mobile. It is my understanding that a caption should be displayed. Is that correct? If not, then I understand. If so, then can you help me with a fix? Here is an example page below showing the issue. thanks very much for your continued support.
April 22, 2016 at 11:23 am #619762Hey!
you have used a caching Plugin, so activate it again, go into plugin’s settings and choose to switch off caching. Deactivate this and all other plugins. Afterwards clear browser cache and hard refresh a few times.
Cheers!
AndyApril 22, 2016 at 4:37 pm #620076Thanks Andy. I was not able to access the cache plug in settings in order to deactivate. There was an outdated PHP APC extension issue with that plug in. So, I deleted the plug-in altogether. Cleared browser cache a few times. Still no captions in the lightbox view. All i see is the photo number “#/##” in the bottom right corner. Where would my caption appear normally, if this were working correctly? Do you have a link or example you could share? appreciatively.
April 26, 2016 at 6:25 am #621904Hey!
If it’s not working in the Captions field, add the caption or product decription in the Alternative Text field instead. This is much better because search engines like alt attributes for images.
Cheers!
IsmaelApril 29, 2016 at 3:25 am #624093Have tried filling in every one of the fields: Title; Caption; Alt text; and Description. Still No captions appear in the lightbox view. There is only the ##/## in the bottom right. If it cannot be done, that’s fine, just let me know and i will stop bothering you with this same question. thanks for your help.
May 2, 2016 at 2:26 pm #625788Hi,
in your backend click on Media->Media Library and edit your images in questions there.

AndyMay 3, 2016 at 4:08 pm #626573Hi Andy. Thank you for your suggestion. Again, Yes. I have filled in ALL of the fields. I filled in the “Title”, “Caption”, “Alt Text” & “Descriptions” fields for each photo via the Media library – for each of the photos in question. I filled in the gallery captions as well. Still, no caption appears in the lightbox. Is this feature available in Enfold?? Please advise. thanks.
May 5, 2016 at 1:40 pm #627814Hi,
Thanks for your cooperation. When i inspect the lightbox image the <div class=”mfp-title”></div>
should not be empty and needs to have the image caption there. Could you please disable the child theme and activate the main theme anc check it out. We will await for your test results.Best regards,

May 5, 2016 at 10:53 pm #628012sorry. am not clear on what you are asking me to do.
May 6, 2016 at 7:57 am #628151Hey!
Please go to Dashboard Appearance > Theme > Select Enfold
The look of the site may change depending on the settings but it will be back to normal when to switch back to child theme. Just for testing purpose please switch the theme to Enfold from Enfold Child theme and check for the issue and let us know if that will fix the issue.

June 3, 2016 at 7:26 am #642427Hi,
I did recheck the issue the captions are visible upon refresh however when you click next they are not picked up. This could be because of a conflict or a corrupt file. To fix this issue the theme files have to be re-placed over FTP but I suggest wait for a couple of day’s as a new theme update v3.6 is coming out. Try updating the theme it should sort this out as the theme files get updated.
Best regards,
VinayJune 3, 2016 at 4:41 pm #642620Okay, will do! Yes, that lower left corner caption is exactly what we want. Glad you are adding the feature to the them update. Still *thought* I had seen the feature working previously, so am still a bit confused. Will watch for 3.6 and a resolution. thanks for all your help. :-)
June 3, 2016 at 5:35 pm #642644Hi,
The caption feature is already there in the current version but i suspect some files are corrupt hence it is not working correctly on your site. Enfold 3.6 will be out very very soon and i suggest updating the theme instead of replacing the theme files via FTP(let’s keep this as a last resort).
If theme update via Enfold options do not resolve this issue please manually replace the theme files via FTP. Follow the simple instructions here. (Or if you want the super detailed explanation you can read this blog post)
That should fix any issues you are currently experiencing :)

June 6, 2016 at 5:58 pm #643517Hi Vinay ~ I performed the upgrade and further investigation, but that did not solve the problem. I now think this is issue being caused by code which was added to my theme functions file awhile back. This was added to get rid of the yellow labels that were showing up on hover over each photo on the site. Code was found in your support forum. Bottom line: Is there a way to remove the yellow labels without losing the lightbox captions? thanks so much for your wonderful help! Jen
