    Hello all and thank you for being an awesome support team!

    I recently upgraded to the latest version and haven’t had any conflicts up until now. I am unable to update any plugins as well as install new ones. Below is an example of the error message I am getting:

    Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/akismet.3.0.3.zip…

    Unpacking the update…

    Installing the latest version…

    Removing the old version of the plugin…

    Could not remove the old plugin.

    Plugin update failed.

    It appears that the old plugin files can’t be removed and that may be failing the plugin upgrade/installation. I am hoping to install new plugins as well as update any old ones.

    Hey addwebtoday!

    It happens in the default theme as well correct? This isn’t a theme issue but a general WordPress issue and it would be best to post a new topic in the WordPress support forums.

    I did a quick google search and came across this which may help, https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-upgrade-failing-cannot-remove-old-plugin.
