Hi guys,
I just cloned and migrated a site onto a new domain and I’m working to customize its appearance.
While I can seamlessly change the logo, I can’t somehow update the favicon.
I can upload it on to Enfold –> Theme Options but even after saving, the site keeps showing the old Favicon.
I initially tried bypassing this by installing a plugin called “Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator”, which worked fine the first time, but when I was asked by my client to change favicon and tried a new one, again, even that plugin couldn’t update a new favicon.
Is there a way to solve the issue? Can I maybe go somewhere via FTP and simply change the favicon file, if I find where it’s located? And in such case what specs should the favicon have (png?, size?) and should I upload it onto the Media Library first?
I also tried deactivating the caching plugins, but it didn’t work.
Thank you for the help.
I’m posting the credentials to the site admin below.

The favicon shows up correctly on my end please check the attached screenshot. You may not see the changes until the cached files are cleared in your browser.
Please try to hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F5 on your browser or press the F12 key to open chrome dev tools and right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload” and review the site again.
Best regards,

Thanks but curiously I can’t view the correct favicon like you, even after emptying cache and hard reload, or clear all cache completely too.
I tried on Firefox, so I don’t lose all the details I have in my Chrome tabs and the result is the following
What else can I do?
January 25, 2017 at 10:36 am #738236Hi,
I did check your site once again on a different machine on which i had never opened your site and I confirm that the new favicon is displayed correctly.
The old cache on your local browser may not be cleared correctly. Please check your site on a different system on which you had probably not opened your site.
Best regards,

Thanks. While waiting for a reply I found a fix, so now I can also see the favicon correctly.
I found out that by updating the favicon directly from within the new WP dashboard menu on the left, it worked. It still showed the old favicon there somehow, which differed from the one set in Enfold settings (you might want to check that), so I changed the favicon there too and the issue was solved.
You can close this thread.
Thank you
