It has been a while now that I can’t save the page after update the contents on each page. I have tried deactivating all the plugins with no luck. Anyone could give some suggestions how to fix this problem? My site is running on WordPress version 4.7.5 and Enfold version! (4.0.7)
Thanks!June 2, 2017 at 12:12 pm #802961Hey Yu,

June 5, 2017 at 3:09 pm #803963Hi,
Can you please try re-updating the theme via FTP and overwrite all files – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
If that does not help, please post FTP logins here privately so we can look further into itBest regards,
YigitJune 5, 2017 at 3:18 pm #803971Ok, I will update the theme again right away via FTP. BTW, I switched to Enfold Child theme this morning when I came in, but the Child theme has the same issue.
June 5, 2017 at 3:19 pm #803973Hey!
I believe it is either caused by corrupted files on parent theme or corrupted files on WordPress. If re-updating theme does not help, it is probably WordPress or something on the server side :)
Regards,
YigitJune 5, 2017 at 3:54 pm #803995Hey Yigit,
I finished re-updating the theme via FTP, the problem still there. I edited a page and clicked Update button, the page didn’t do anything still. Could you please take a look at my website for me to see what cause this problem? I have included my FTP login on private content. Thanks!
June 6, 2017 at 8:55 pm #804676Hey Yigit,
Have you had a chance to take a look at my site yet?
I re-installed the latest version of WordPress, deactivated all the plugins today, but still can’t save the update of my website. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

June 7, 2017 at 4:32 pm #805142Hi Liyu,
You can check your php version with your hosting provider. In cPanel. When I get to the post, after that all the links in the WordPress menu are not clickable. Are you having the same issue?
Best regards,
VictoriaJune 7, 2017 at 6:18 pm #805217Hi Victoria,
My php version is 5.6 and have confirmed with Godaddy customer service rep. that is the latest version. I also asked them to check if there is any problem on my hosting server that causes the issue to update the website contents. He told me he did not see any issue from his end.
Once I tried to edit a page, I am not able to click any of the menu on WordPress dashboard either. I have to hit the back button to leave that editing page, then I can click any menu.
All other functions on my site seem to be working besides the edit function.
Any suggestions that I can try?
Thanks very much for your time to help.

June 14, 2017 at 9:17 am #807857Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We still can’t find the cause of the issue. Please ask your hosting provider for the latest error_log. The current error_log file is 435MB which is quite big.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 14, 2017 at 5:38 pm #808111@Ismael, I have been on the phone with Godaddy customer service rep. for about an hour just now, they have checked everything and still can’t make the edit function work. Then we decided to switch to another theme to see if that’s the theme causes the issue. We switched to Twenty Twelve theme, it worked! So now, it seems that’s Enfold theme problem. Could anybody in Enfold team check which of your file not compatible with WordPress version 4.7 and 4.8?
Thank you!

June 15, 2017 at 5:14 pm #808626Hey Yigit,
I do need you or someone in your team to take a look at the problem that I posted yesterday above, to find out which file or files in Enfold theme caused the update issue on my website.
Thanks!

June 16, 2017 at 6:52 am #808844Hi,
We can’t reproduce the issue on other installations so it’s probably cause by a plugin, a custom modification in the theme or most probably a server settings. Please ask your hosting provider to give us the latest error_logs so that we can check what causes the error or ask them if they are blocking any files due to excessive load.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 16, 2017 at 3:17 pm #808975Ismael,
My website hosting company Godaddy customer service rep. went through all the possible setting that could cause the issue for me the other day and still can’t make it work. Then we switched to Twenty Twelve theme and was able save the editing. Here is the error log file: error_log, and here is the error_logbak: error_logbak
Thank you!

June 19, 2017 at 9:31 pm #809980Are you able to check the error log in my post above? I checked my revision logs on my site just now and found that the last time I was able to edit & update date is April 29th, 2017. I think this information might help you find out what might cause this issue from your theme updates after that date.
Thanks!

June 20, 2017 at 6:27 am #810182Hi,
Thank you for the update.
All of the errors relate to the “wp-content/mu-plugins/no-white-screen.php” file. Do you have any idea what that file is?

IsmaelJune 20, 2017 at 6:00 pm #810543Hey Ismael,
I don’t know what that file is, but when I checked with my WP dashboard, I saw under Plugins, there is a tab named “Must Use” plugin “no-white-screen.php”, which I never installed. Then I went to my Godaddy file manager to delete that file, and I still can’t save the content updates. That Must Use plugin look like this on my site:
I also tried to install an old Enfold version 3.8.4, which I am sure it worked at that time (before March this year), but now I still can’t save the contents with the older version of your theme with WordPress 4.8.
So far this what I have been trying with your team and Godaddy hosting customer service rep.:
1. Deleted all of the plugins from my site, issue not solved.
2. Re-installed the theme to an older version, issue not solved
3. Switched to WordPress default theme Twenty Twelve, issue solved, I was able to edit and save the updates. From our efforts above, my feeling is that there is something in Enfold theme conflicted with WordPress.
I love Enfold theme very much, with this theme, we can make our website very beautiful and look quite professional. But I have to say that it’s not possible to stay with this situation for too long that I am not able to update my contents. I wish you can find that issue and fix it on your next theme update.
Thank you!

June 21, 2017 at 8:21 am #810836Hi,
The issue is not happening on other installations so there’s something uniquely wrong in your installation or your server. Unfortunately, we can’t find it. Did you change the WP and FTP login details? We can’t use those anymore.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 21, 2017 at 3:25 pm #810996Ismael,
Thanks for your time. A new login information in my private content.
I also want to share some interesting testing that I did last night with you. I switched to Twenty Twelve theme and edit the page, then I saved, viewed the page and saw the new contents have been there with different browsers. Then I went back and switched to Enfold theme, to my surprised, Enfold theme did not take the changes, and still displayed the old contents. How can this happen?
Since my case is unique and I really want to solve this issue, I can renew my support license in Themeforest so that you can help me do a fully investigation, please let me know if this works for you. If you need me to call my hosting company Godaddy for any questions, I will be happy to do that.
Thanks and looking forward to your response.

June 26, 2017 at 6:07 am #812877Hi,
Thank you for the info. The FTP login details are not working. Please ask your hosting provider for the latest error log again. We would like to check it. I can’t find the “no-white-screen” plugin on the plugins panel.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 26, 2017 at 6:08 am #812878Hi,
Important: Before asking for the error log, please edit one of the page or create a new one then click on the “publish” button.
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 26, 2017 at 3:18 pm #813091Ismael,
Thanks.
I deleted the “no-white-screen” plugin and cleared all the cache files on my database when I called Godaddy customer service representative on Friday as they suggested, but still with no luck.
So far I have been trying everything to solve the problem, but it seems nobody can find the issue.
I am now in the process of changing hosting company. I will update you once my site transfers to another hosting.
Thanks.

June 28, 2017 at 6:57 am #813688Hi,
Thank you for the update. Please let us know once the site is transferred to another host. We do encounter a lot of issues related to the previous host so, hopefully, a new host will work better.
Best regards,
IsmaelJuly 5, 2017 at 4:21 pm #816797Hey Ismael,
I wanted to give you a quick update about my site.
I have transfered my website hosting from Godaddy to Hostgator last week. However, my problem still exists, that I still not able to save the changes after I tried to edit the contents of the website. The site still acting the same.
So the issue is not the server problem, could you image what this might be? What else should I try?
Thank you!
Liyu
July 9, 2017 at 7:36 pm #818447Hey Enfold team,
I am happy to let you know that I have fixed my site problem. Here is what I did: I deleted the Enfold folder from wp-content – theme – Enfold via FTP, uploaded the whole folder again, then activated, my site working correctly! I think this issue happened because I updated the theme through WP dashboard last time, but some of the files might not be updated correctly.
Thank you for all of your supports and I am still happy using Enfold for my site!
