Hi,
I tried to update Enfold to the newest version but I get an error message:Apparently, I can’t update although I have a paid version with a token, the newest version of WP etc. Any thoughts?

Can you try to do this process to update Enfold (make sure to have a backup first):
1. Switch to a default wordpress theme like twentynineteen
2. Delete the Enfold theme
3. Upload the latest version of Enfold (enfold.zip) then set it as the active theme again.Best regards,

thank you for your response. I am honestly not very fond of that idea. There is a lot of custom programming on my website that I didn’t do myself and I have no idea how this might affect my website. It’s a really large website and my only source of income, I wouldn’t like to mess with it. Is there no other option?
BarbaraApril 2, 2019 at 5:41 am #1085837Hi Barbara,
I understand, the safest way to do this is first create a staging site (basically a duplicate of your live site placed in your subdomain), this way you can test the update first on the stage site without affecting your live site if in case it will have issues. Here is a tutorial on how to do it: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/
Aas for custom programming that you mentioned, if you’re using a child theme and those customization is stored there then it will not be lost but if customizations where made in the enfold/parent theme files (not theme options) then whether it’s updated in Enfold > Theme Update or the process I mentioned above the results will be the same.Best regards,
