    Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone else out there has found it difficult to get their images indexed in the search engines with this theme or has any advice to correct where I may be going wrong.

To be honest I have tried for a few months now using a couple of different methods but neither Google or Bing seems to be able to index my actual image files, I have tried:

    The enfold masonry gallery
    http://zavok.com/landscape/

As well as third party plugins like photo gallery:

I have even created a special image gallery site map and added it’s url to my robots.txt file which links to the images directly for example:

    http://zavok.com/wp-content/uploads/The-girl-with-the-hooped-earring-The-Girl-With-The-Pearl-Earring-Pastiche.jpg

It doesn’t seem to matter what I do the search engines don’t seem to be able to index them in their image search tab, my written content is getting indexed fine it’s just images that are the problem, is this an issue known to enfold? Is Enfold SEO friendly for images? Or is it something to do with lightbox or something? If anybody can see why Google or Bing may have a problem indexing any of the examples I have posted I would love to hear your thoughts?

    Many thanks,

    Zavok

Do lightbox images gets indexed by search engines? Could this be the problem, my apologies if moaning about SEO friendlyness seems a little outside the remit of tech support but for a site whose content is reliant mainly on images it really is quite important for them to come up in the search engines image search tab.

    Many thanks,

Can anyone recommend a plugin that will work well with enfold and allow my images to get indexed in the search engines?

    Thanks,

    Hi!

Yes Google should not have any problems seeing them. Here is an example of our portfolio demo page, https://www.google.com/search?q=kriesi+replete&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=965&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=0o74VMWiM42qyQTuo4G4DA&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAw#tbm=isch&q=http:%2F%2Fkriesi.at%2Fthemes%2Fenfold%2Fportfolio%2Fmasonry-portfolio%2F&imgdii=_.

I’m not an expert on this so I can’t think of any other advice to give you. I would try posting in the Google webmaster forums about this. They will be able to give you some good tips.

    Best regards,
    Elliott

Thanks for your reply, it’s good to know that in theory there is nothing that should be preventing this in any of the pages I have posted as examples, although I have still got to try and find a way to get the images listed.

I have done a bit or reading on the subject and apparently many people can struggle to get their images indexed with many themes and plugins including the next gen gallery and even when there is nothing apparently wrong getting your images indexed can be a bit hit and miss.

Anyway if anyone has any more thoughts on how to best accomplish this or anything else that may be a problem I would love to hear your views.

    Many thanks,

    Hey

This is the only requirement to add your images on google: (https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/175288?hl=en)

-Include descriptive text. Include descriptive text somewhere near the image like in an image “alt” tag or a caption. This helps Google understand what the image is showing and what searches it will be relevant to.
-Upload high quality photos. Great image content is an excellent way to build traffic to your site.

Before that, you have to make sure that the site is included in the google search: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/34397

While there’s no guarantee that our spiders will find a particular site, following these guidelines should increase your site’s chances of showing up in our search results.

This sounds easy and basic but I think it’s best if you hire SEO experts to help you with the site.

    Cheers!
    Ismael
