I’ve tried uploading the theme via wordpress but it came up with an error. I have successfully uploaded enfold on other sites via FTP, but it won’t upload via FTP on my current site. I’ve tried deactivating all the plugins, but as soon as the theme uploads on the server, the site crashes. It evens comes up under my theme, but crashes as soon as I activate it. What am I doing wrong?
January 26, 2016 at 2:27 pm #572107Hey Egoldwater!
Please try to increase the allocated memory to 128M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
You can contact your service provider and they can do it for you.If that too does not help, please post FTP credentials here as well and upload the latest version of Enfold.zip file somewhere on your server and tell us where :)
Best regards,
YigitJanuary 26, 2016 at 2:44 pm #572125Thanks for that, how would I go about increasing the memory? I can’t seem to find anything on the server under memory and I’m unsure how to edit the php page. Does it have to be done through the server provider only?
Many thanks for your quick response!
January 26, 2016 at 2:53 pm #572130Hi!
You can try adding following line to wp-config.php file which is in the root of your WordPress installation via FTP
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M' );
Best regards,
YigitJanuary 26, 2016 at 4:22 pm #572190Thank you. The server provider said the site is already at the 128MB limit. What else can the problem be?
January 27, 2016 at 9:07 am #572680Hi,
128MB should be enough but maybe you could try to increase it a bit more? What errors are you getting? You said the site crashed, as in crashing your browser? I would try to contact your host again to see if they might have some insight.

RikardJanuary 27, 2016 at 12:41 pm #572797So it finally uploaded, but I’m not sure all the files were there as my pages were not displaying properly. Every time I delete it from the server and then try again to upload it via ftp, there seem to be problems and errors. I clicked on ‘overwrite’ for all the errors, but even once it had finished, it still seemed to have failed quite a few file transfers. I’ve included the ftp details, if you could somehow upload it I’d be very grateful.
January 29, 2016 at 9:59 am #574398Hi!
We will surely help you.
1. You are currently using an old version of the theme. Is there any other reason why you want to re-install the theme?
2. Have you tried to update from Enfold > Theme Updates > Update theme
3. If none of the above work please upload only the theme installable zip file to FTP wp-content/themes/enfold directory and let us know.Regards,
