Alles Gute!
March 29, 2017 at 12:41 pm #768780Hi,
Sorry for the late reply!
Enfold 4.0.4 is now available on ThemeForest. Could you please try updating the theme to the latest version (preferably via FTP to overwrite all files manually) and check if that helps – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/?

YigitApril 3, 2017 at 9:01 pm #771323Hi Yigit,
thanks so much for trying to fix this and sorry for the late response.
Unfortunately the update did not fix it – I manually replaced the whole enfold folder and it still acts the same way (spinning wheel of death :)Any other ideas?
Best, Andy
April 4, 2017 at 6:53 am #771534I had the same issue with the spinning wheel on an older version of Enfold. I renamed the plugins folder and the wheel disappeared. Upon closer inspection WordPress SEO (Yoast) was the conflicting plugin for me. After I found this issue, I updated Enfold and the spinning wheel issue was fixed.
Deactivating the WordPress SEO plugin allowed me to edit the pages prior to updating the theme. Hope this works for some people.
April 8, 2017 at 8:11 pm #774668@digithrive, thanks for your help!
I did rename the plugin folder and interestingly, one blog post that had failed before was editable again. However, after editing it a bit, the same problem reappeared (plugin folder was still renamed). Other pages had the spinning issue, as well. So I can confirm that it may have something to do with other plugins but still can appear (and does so on my side) without any active plugins.
I can only edit affected pages with the “debug mode” direct edit field enabled (http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/). That works in practice but is a bit tiring.April 10, 2017 at 1:04 pm #775430Hi,
@andreashorn Sorry for the late reply! If issue is present only on certain pages, please make sure that you open and close your HTML tags properly as following
<strong>Here is my text</strong>
Also, try removing any custom code you have on your page temporarily and check if that helps.
@digithrive Thanks for your help :)Best regards,
YigitApril 10, 2017 at 4:48 pm #775543Hi Yigit,
sure, I checked that. I also don’t add any custom code at all, no mods to my wordpress or anything..
It’s really weird, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. For the most part, on some pages with a bit more content, it doesn’t work at all.
Probably hard to solve but it’s getting much harder to maintain the site if the editor doesn’t work on these pages.Except that, I do love your templates. Is there any newer template that uses a different editor that I could try or do all Kriesi templates use the same advanced layout editor?
Thanks so much for your hardwork.
Best, Andy
April 17, 2017 at 8:46 am #778579Hi,
Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, we only use same editor for all our themes. I checked the backend and and tested out this code in the page I created (link in private content):
[av_textblock size='' font_color='' color='']<a href="http://www.google.com">google</a> and <a href="https://figshare.com/">figshare</a> [/av_textblock]
And it doesn’t render when it contains http and https links, I’m not sure why it doesn’t work, though I have tested the codes which doesn’t work on your end but it works properly on my end, in which case I don’t think this is a bug, but it would probably be a plugin conflict, can you try to disable all plugins? and check if the editor works on the link I gave in private content? if not would you allow us to disable all plugins (for few minutes) and give us ftp access?
Best regards,
NikkoApril 17, 2017 at 3:08 pm #778731Hi Nikko,
this is awesome, thanks so much for your help. I renamed the plugin folder and your link still does not work.
I added FTP access below. Totally fine to disable plugins for a while if you want to debug, that’s really awesome!Best, Andy
April 25, 2017 at 1:36 pm #782863Hi,
I am so sorry for the late reply.
I have been looking into this and could not figure it out why the issue was happening. I decided to troubleshoot the errors in console, started with adding Google maps API key in Enfold theme (http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key/) and after adding it, page loaded just fine on my end :)Can you please flush browser cache and review your website now?
Best regards,
YigitApril 25, 2017 at 3:40 pm #782937Hi Yigit,
thank you so much for your effort! It seems really tricky.
I did flush my browser cache and the site loaded fine – that being said, it *sometimes* loads fine without doing anything, as well. Now I did a small edit and it didn’t load anymore. When flushing browser cache (and “hosted app data” in Chrome) again, it loaded fine again.
So could be it really is related to resetting the cache? Any chance this is helpful? In any case seems to be a workaround for me, for now.
Thanks again!
Andy
April 25, 2017 at 3:44 pm #782939…I take that back, clearing the cache doesn’t always seem to work, this page is broken to edit on my side and remains broken when clearing the cache:

April 27, 2017 at 3:41 pm #784066Hi,
It seems to be server issue. Can you please contact your hosting provider and tell them that you are getting “ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED” error?
Best regards,
YigitApril 27, 2017 at 4:43 pm #784105Done, thanks! Not too sure whether they can do/say anything just given that information but maybe they can. Will let you know.
Would PhP version make a different at all in this? Thanks again for all your help!
Best, Andy
April 27, 2017 at 7:13 pm #784150Hi,
You are currently using PHP version 5.6.30 and that should not cause any issues. Hopefully, your hosting providers shed a light on it :)
Best regards,
YigitMay 8, 2017 at 10:43 pm #789888Hi Yigit,
the hosting provider (strato) couldn’t really help. They suggested the same tips (plugin deactivation, cache clearing, different browser) and said they were no programmers. Bummer, problem seems kinda stuck now. It’s really a shame since your advanced layout editor is so awesome as long as it works.
If you get any additional idea, please let me know, would be really happy about any suggestion. Thanks!
Andy
May 9, 2017 at 11:00 am #790129Hi,
Thanks for providing the ftp access, have checked on it and it seems there’s a problem with compression, if I remove this code from .htaccess:
mod_gzip_on Yes
it does remove ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED error and admin-ajax.php status becomes 200 instead of showing failed but instead of showing the spinning icon endlessly it does show this in error:
OK The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
I couldn’t fix the problem but the solution on this post might help: https://stefantsov.com/fixing-err_content_decoding_failed-in-apachephp/
What helped Adding zlib.output_compression = On to php.ini helped me. Issue was solved.
Hope the solution on this post would help :)
