    Dear Kriesi team,

I somehow cannot edit this page anymore (http://www.lead-dbs.org/?page_id=45). The spinner wheel in the advanced editor (usually loading the page) keeps on spinning forever. If I switch to Default editor, I see no content, both in visual and text edit mode.

    Any ideas?
Thank you so much for your help!

    Best, Andy

    Hey andreashorn,

I would recommend first temporarily deactivating all of the plugins and seeing if that fixes the issue. If it does, then you want to try and isolate the exact plugin that is causing the issue by activating/deactivating them individually.

Also try deleting all your cookies and clearing your browser cache.

Hi there, thanks for your nice comments & sorry for the late reply. Tried what you said (disabling all plugins and clearing browser cache but it still doesn’t work, keeps spinning forever. I really can’t edit my pages this way (only happens in 2 pages on the site).

I added my login credentials below if you’d like to see for yourself?

Thanks so much for your help!

    Hi,

Are you using the most up to date version of Endfold?

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

    #761022

Yes, just updated everything to make sure (Enfold, WordPress, all plugins – although these are deactivated now, anyways).

    #761023

Also cleared cookies, browser cache, etc. Tried in 2 browsers.

    #761028

    Hi,

Are any console errors being thrown in the browser?

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

    #761036

    Yes:
    http://pastebin.com/AZeB8xKq

Does that ring any bells? :)

    Hi!

Can you please try adding following code to wp-config.php file near top and check if that helps?

    define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);

    Regards,
    Yigit

    #761061

    Hi there, thanks,

    unfortunately same behavior.

    Now the console says:

    Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED

(there also is a warning that was there before, as well:)
util.js:210 Google Maps API warning: NoApiKeys https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#no-api-keys

    Hi!

Did you transfer the site to a different host or server? Please ask your hosting provider to enable the zlib.output_compression php extension. And please post the content of the .htaccess file on pastebin.com.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #761439

    Hi Ismael,

I didn’t move to a different server. Also, as said the editor works fine on other pages – it’s just broken on these two larger ones (where it worked great before). I’m not sure if it’s a general problem but will ask the provider to enable this extension you mentioned.
Finally, here’s the .htaccess paste, it’s a one-liner made by the hosting provider:

    Hi!

    Thank you for the update.

It doesn’t look like the extension is helping. Please try to upgrade PHP to version 5.6 or higher and increase the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT value to at least 128M. The current PHP version in your server is 5.3.29 @32BitOS and wp memory limit is set to 40M.

    #762052

    Hi Ismael,

    thanks for your great help!
So I did upgrade to PHP 5.6 and set the limit to 256 (which the host allows: https://strato.de/blog/mehr-ressourcen-strato-verdoppelt-php-memory-limit/). Unfortunately it didn’t help. Any other ideas?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi,

Which 2 pages exactly are giving you the problems?

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

    #762660

    Hi there,

    it’s this one:

    and this one:

Any clue? They used to work before (that’s how I built them).

    Best, Andy

    #762663

    Sorry, these two:

    Page 1
    Page 2

    #762679

I would dupicate the 2 and replace. Test it!

    #762682

Already tried and just tried again. Doesn’t work.

    #762832

    Hey!

Is it working if you edit the page on another browser? We will forward the issue Kriesi. Please wait for his response.

    Hi Ismael,

thanks! I tried in Chrome, Safari and Firefox. No luck.

Hi Andy, I’m having the exact same problem as you – very frustrating!

    #763523

CONTENT_DECODING sounds like a format Problem. Can you check the Content and delete some for testing. Maybe there is a string in it causing the Problem. I am just a user not am Enfold-Expert. Let us know.

@royaltask, sure, this may well be but still frustrating that it kills the whole editor. I can edit other pages well so it must be something in the content. That’s why I reported it so @kriesi guys have the chance to fix it (and because it’s a bit annoying).

    @gailfrancombe
, sorry to hear, let me know if you find a solution! Good to hear I’m not alone.

    #764581

    Hey!

    @andreashorn
: Have you tried @royaltask suggestion? Please try to delete random or “suspicious” content in the page and see if it starts working again. You can do that by switching the builder to debug mode.

    // http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/

    Regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

sure I could do that but I had thought that’s not the point of this, is it?
I mean since it works perfectly fine on other pages and just fails for the two I’m sure it must be some content. Could be a weird character or could be that it’s just too complex content for your editor. Still think this is clearly a bug and that’s why I reported it.
I have ways of getting over this by manually editing the page. This sucks and I’ll probably switch to another template soon if I have to do this all the time. But it’s not that I cannot survive with the bug. Just thought you guys might be interested in improving the product.
Feel a bit sorry for the time we all invested in this but I guess that’s life.

    Best, Andy
