Can't change Footer Widget content

Hi!
I have taken over a website from a previous web designer and since turned it into a multi-site installation. I am having a problem with the footer widget area. This seems to have been edited directly in code somewhere and I can’t find where to change it. Filling in new content in the Appearance->Widgets->Footer Col1 etc. widgets makes no difference, the content doesn’t change so I am assuming it may be hard-coded?? Where would I find the footer code file please?

The issue is that in the current footer there is broken Google map code but I have no way of fixing it. I also want to add a fourth column.
