I’m in a bit of a unique bind, I think. I had someone set up my website with Enfold, and then I couldn’t add/modify my pages. So, I purchased Enfold to be able to do so. However, what I thought would be an easy 1-2-3 process has turned into an “I don’t know process.” I still can’t modify the content despite my linking my own account with the purchased theme. Do I need to reinstall it? If not, what would the process be to be able to do so? Any help concerning this matter would be greatly appreciated.
August 15, 2017 at 3:41 pm #839353Hey 7w7wilson,
Can you please provide admin info so we can log in and look into this. When you say you can’t add anything , does it seem like an error or some sort of account lock?
Best regards,

When you say someone else set up my website I’m presuming they installed a version of Enfold and built a site for you?
Editing privileges are not a theme related thing they are set by your user role within WordPress. If you are set to Administrator you have the ability to edit / change / add / delete anything you want. If you are set to say subscriber you can only view pages.
It could be the person who set up the site has created you as a user with a low user role. If you have paid them I’d suggest asking them for the admin passwords as they are yours. You can then log in and change things as you like.
If they refuse and you have access to the server you can change the password in myphpadmin and get into the site way.
Some unscrupulous developers will try to maintain control over a site so they can charge you for simple things. (I’m not saying that is the case – just from experience I’ve seen clients ripped off)
Let us know if any of this ring true for you
Thanks
TJ

August 15, 2017 at 5:27 pm #839436Hi,
I just logged in and attempted a page edit without issue. Perhaps there is something I’m missing?

In order for us to narrow down the possibilities, can you try the following please?
– Clear your browser’s cache. This could be the source of the problem.
– Disable all your plugins. If you are able to are able to modify your content, then one of the plugins is the cause. Enable each plugin one by one and see which one causes the problem. Please let us know how it goes!

SarahAugust 15, 2017 at 5:55 pm #839468Nothing has changed. I still can’t move things around or add new sections. I have all of my plugins disabled, and browser cache disabled/deleted.
August 15, 2017 at 6:03 pm #839475Hi,
What is the page editor by Beaver? You should be using only the ALB provided by Enfold. Are you using the same admin account that you provided us?

What browser/device combination are you using? I’m using Chrome on a PC, but can’t recreate this issue.

Jordan ShannonAugust 17, 2017 at 12:40 am #840163I figured it out. I accidentally had the lock advanced layout builder enabled. I feel like an idiot lol, but it’s something I can learn from. Thanks for looking into it, and sorry for wasting all of your collective time. I hope y’all have a great day.
