Hello,
with the new EU data privacy regulations taking effect last week, I attempted to update the privacy terms and conditions page on our website (running the Enfold theme). Ever since pasting the long disclaimer text into the text field, the editor does not display the page anymore, I cannot change it or save it. Where the content elements should be displayed in the page editor, it just reads:
“Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.”For days now I have gone back to check and see if anything has changed. But still nothing. I have tried to set up the site from scratch, but as soon as I paste the data privacy text, the same error occurs. I have even tried to split the text up into multiple content boxes, but now luck. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?
Thank you!

It close to impossible for us to be able to tell what is going wrong from a screenshot, did you try using a different browser to see if that helps? Are there any error messages in the console if you inspect the page in your browser?

Thanks for the feedback. So maybe the problems is due to the formatting of the text? Is there any html markup in the text? Did you copy it from a Word document or similar? If so then you can try to paste the text in to stupid text editor like Notepad and then copy it into your site again to see if that helps.

I have created a new site and recreated the page by copying and pasting from the Windows text editor. Originally, it was able to handle the large block of text, but once I started formatting it (added about 4-5 line breaks and then started to format a bullet list) the same error appeared. The site now shows the same behavior as the original one and I cannot edit it anymore.
Thanks,

Ok, did you check that you have properly closed all markup that you added? Open markup can break things unfortunately.
<strong>Bold text closed properly</strong>

I did not do any manual formatting in the text, but used the visual editor. So there should not be any incomplete code elements. Just looked through the code on the site directly as well and do not see any open markups.

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

Thanks for the help! Switching the website address over to https in the settings tab seems to have done the trick.
Thank you!
