I’m running WordPress 5.3.2 and Enfold 4.7.2. I’m having trouble edit certain pages using the Advanced Layout Builder – I just get the spinner graphic when I click the edit page (see link below for screenshot showing this).
At this point I’m stumped – I’ve seen a few similar posts about what sounds like the same issue and have tried the suggestions there (select to use the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options). I can enable debug mode but not sure how to “move all the shortcodes to a new page to see if that helps” – if you could explain this in a bit more detail that would be great or if you have any other suggestions as to why I can’t edit these pages that would be great.

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

February 9, 2020 at 3:15 pm #1182756Hi,
Thanks for that, I’m seeing the same thing on my end. You are getting a 403 on the file in private. Did you add any custom code to your content maybe? If you enable debug mode, then you will get an extra field under the regular Layout Builder box which will list all the shortcode. You can simply copy all the shortcode to a new page once you have enabled debug mode.

RikardFebruary 10, 2020 at 12:25 am #1182881I’ve created a new page and have found that I can get it to work if I remove a text block that is within a 1/2 column – see details in private
February 10, 2020 at 6:35 am #1182940Hi,
Thanks for that. I duplicated the list on the right and placed it on the left, that seems to work without any problems. Could you try replacing the text and leave out any special characters like / or % as they might be causing the problem?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 10, 2020 at 8:35 am #1182960It seems to be the colon at the end of the first line that is causing the issue from my testing – see details below in private.
February 11, 2020 at 10:52 am #1183382Hi,
I checked your page content on my server with include: – page loads as expected.
if you use includes: or includ: on your server your page also loads fine, also using include : does not work.
Could to be a plugin (Security ??). Can you try to deactivate all plugins and then reactivate one by one and check?
Best regards,
GünterFebruary 11, 2020 at 1:01 pm #1183434I recreated the page on another server and disabled all plugins and still got the same error when the ‘include:’ string was used here (or elsewhere for that matter). Seems like something has changed somewhere as these pages have been like this for many years now. Doesn’t appear to be a plugin issue as all my plugins are deactivated on this server and I still can’t edit a page that contains the string ‘include:’ for some reason.
February 17, 2020 at 2:15 pm #1185219Hi,
Could you please contact your hosting providers and ask them if they experienced such issues before? I remember a similar case where typing “get” would break WP editor. I think it might be some sort of security measure by your hosting provider.
Best regards,
YigitFebruary 19, 2020 at 3:52 pm #1186086I’ve been in contact with my host and it looks like this was trigger a modsec rule – they have whitelisted this and it is working normally again. Thanks for your help in getting to this point.
