Hi,
I have set up a blog page and a news page. I have set up post categories for each and assigned the posts to the correct categories but when I look at the site both pages are the same (ie they include all the posts and not the categories assigned to the page!)Is there a way to set it so that they appear as different pages?

That’s weird, can you try to deactivate all plugins and check if the issue still persists?

Nikkotried that and the issue still persists! The blog is as it should be but the news page is the same page as the blog now :(

Please update the theme to the latest version. That should fix any issues you are currently experiencing :)
To update to the latest version follow the simple instructions here. (Or if you want the super detailed explanation you can read this blog post)

This should be fixed now. Here is what I did:
- Go to Settings > Reading and set Front page displays to Your latest posts (this is to make sure that the wordpress doesn’t interfere with setting of homepage and blog since we are using enfold’s theme option
- Go to Enfold > Blog Layout > set Blog Layout to Use the advance layout editor to build your own blog layout (simply edit the page you have chosen in Enfold->Theme Options as a blog page) (setting this would allow make a customized blog layout in this case News)
- Go to News page edit it, add a Color Section and Blogposts then just select the News category
