Hi, after some recent updates, our Enfold burger menu stopped opening at some point (used to work fine for years). The burger is visible, but clicking it on any device doesn’t open the menu.
Error caught in the browser console: Uncaught RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded
We have tried disabling all plugins, clearing cache and various other changes to burger menu settings, and nothing has worked.
This is pretty big problem for us, since it is the main navigation method for mobile and smaller screen users, please help!
Versions:
Enfold 7.1
Wordpress 6.8.1
PHP 8.3.19 (ea-php83)May 9, 2025 at 4:38 pm #1483930Hey targetors,

In Enfold – Main menu – General

Thanks for that. What happens if you temporarily deactivate all plugins? Also please remove this piece of code from Quick CSS, as it’s not CSS:
<head><script id="mcjs">!function(c,h,i,m,p){m=c.createElement(h),p=c.getElementsByTagName(h)[0],m.async=1,m.src=i,p.parentNode.insertBefore(m,p)}(document,"script","https://chimpstatic.com/mcjs-connected/js/users/6d0ec3379f441286d65524a4e/a98fab925f37eb224333dfe65.js");</script></head>

RikardMay 16, 2025 at 9:02 am #1484332When I deactivated all plugins the burger menu didn’t work any more. After reactivating them the burger menu didn’t work also. Then I changed the setting seperator between menu items again to no seperator ( I don’t know if I again deactivated some plugins as WP Fastest Cache, WP Super Minify and Optimus) but it works again with the old settings.

RikardMay 19, 2025 at 10:57 am #1484439Hi, we already tried disabling all plugins, did not work (stated in the opening message). I also now have removed that old script from the Quick CSS.
So there is no any new solutions or options we haven’t already tried?
PS. We just bought new version of Enfold since the old one didn’t activate anymore thanks to the changes in validation. It is not very nice that basic parts of the theme just doesn’t work.
May 19, 2025 at 11:14 am #1484442Hi, now after making changes to the separator option and deactivating plugins one at a time, I discovered that CookieYes – GDPR Cookie Consent – was the issue. Now the burger menu works, but seems we have to add some other plugin to take care of consent.

Great, I’m glad to hear that you found the cause of your problem.

What exactly is not working? If you haven’t registered your theme license, then refer to this: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
