I wish I had some idea of when this started, but I really don’t. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t like this when we developed the site in 2014. The burger menu, when expanded, displays content from some of the pages. Not all of them, but the first weird one, the Talent Solutions tab, has a block quote at the top of the page which is being displayed in the menu, and the 2nd weird one, Recruitment, is displaying text that doesn’t even exist on the site. This is happening both in desktop browsers when I squeeze the sides to force the menu to appear, and on my iPhone.

    Hey Lissasan,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

Hi, sorry it took me a bit to get back to this. I’ve included the link/credentials to the development site, which is a clone, in case you need to make changes, or turn off plugins, or what ever, so we don’t affect the production site. The issue is happening on the dev site as well. I just created you guys the same admin account I usually do.

    Thanks!

    Hi Lissasan,

Can you please be more specific on what text is not supposed to be there? I don’t see any difference.

    Best regards,

On desktop computers, I see this menu
    Enfold Desktop Menu

On mobile devices, and when the browser window is “squeezed”, and I have clicked to show the menu, I see this, which should show the same top level menu options, but for me, does not.
    Enfold Burger Menu

Home, About DCG, Talent Solutions, Assessments, Recruitment, Transition, and Resources are all appropriate top level menu options.
“The competitive advantage of the 21st century is increasingly derived …” is not supposed to be visible in any part of any menu.

    Thanks,
    Lissa

    Hi,
I’ve changed the PHP version to 7.0.25, and requested that the cache be flushed, though I have no idea how I can tell when this is done. The site is running on a LiteSpeed server, could that be causing a problem? I don’t see any differences in the menu after the PHP change.

    Hi,
The extra text is in a menu field called Description. It was hidden by your screen options at the top of the page. I checked the Description box and now you can see it.

As this was developed in 2014, before the burger menu, it was most likely used for SEO. With the new burger menu I suggest clearing this field. If you wish to hide it from the burger menu, Try this code in the General Styling > Quick CSS field:

    @media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .avia-menu-subtext {display:none!important;}}

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Mike!
I have worked on this site, in all of its iterations and across several platforms, since 2005. I have no recollection of populating those fields.

I wonder whether this could be the result of data added to an SEO plugin that has since been deactivated.

At any rate, thank you SO much for finding this!
