I’m using a boxed layout for my website. I tried out some different options in the General Styling Section with the body background and finally changed it to a color # ac7f54. I saved it. When I launch the website in my browser it now shows a charcoal color.
I just went back into General Styling. It looks like the Socket Background Color replaces the Body Background Color (This is the color that is displayed behind your boxed content area). So if I change the Socket Color the Body Background Color changes to the same. I also noticed that the “Prefdefined Color Schemes” are grayed out and not available anymore.
I don’t seem to be able to fix this on my own. I am not a webdesigner. My website is WordPress hosted with Godaddy.

May 31, 2016 at 9:00 pm #641077silly question on that post:
the color definition is #ac7f54 not # ac7f54 ?
no space between ?May 31, 2016 at 10:47 pm #641106No, it formats it automatically. There is no space in between. There is something else. It has to do with the socket, because the socket is now the body background color.
I was trying to make a test page and followed Kriesi’s tutorial on how to make a landing page using a background image. Didn’t like it and then wanted to have my original layout with the boxed version back. That’s when something went wrong. If I change the footer background color it will change the body background color to that same color. I can change the body background color to purple or whatever and it will not show in my browser. only in the preview.
I’m so upset.June 1, 2016 at 8:41 am #641300Hi,

Change the background color on body background again to your color: #ac7f54Then reactivate your normal layout.

This is a bit strange, few settings were not getting picked up i had to reset the theme settings to resolve this. I’m sorry some colors are overwritten but everything is working fine now.
Best regards,
VinayJune 4, 2016 at 5:32 am #642826Hi Vinay,
Thanks for your help. Can you tell me which color scheme you used? boxed minimal or minimal white? This wasn’t the color scheme I started out with.June 4, 2016 at 2:31 pm #642934Hi!
You are most welcome! It’s Boxed wood theme that is currently active.
Cheers!

You may have meant good, but the website doesn’t look AT ALL what it was before. My header image was deleted and I can’t get it to what it was. Non of the fonts and headers look the they were before. I think prior to making such a substantial change you should have let me know what you are planning to do and how it would change the site. It is very unfortunate that there is no backup or snapshot to the layout I had before. I am not a developer and it took me months to learn and figure out how to make this website. Many tutorials are so outdated.
I just had it perfect before the body background color disappeared. Sounds so little to fix and now had such a profound impact. One question…changing the color scheme, will that impact the written content or is it just changing the colors.

Ok, figured most of it out. Thanks again for your help.
June 4, 2016 at 5:13 pm #642962Hi!
I’m glad you got most of the thing back as it was. very sorry sorry this happened, it was totally unexpected and yes I agree with your point :)
Changing the color scheme will only change the colors no content will be affected.Regards,
