hello, i like to show images in a gallery all square.
now im having this gallery of 3 rows.
Now the only option they display them all square is 180×180 (also 36×36 and 80×80, but that is really too small, than they become really blur).
300×300 and 1030×1030 would expect to give also square thumbs, but they are giving some messy masonrylike view.
how to get square and sharp thumbs, without putting like 8 or 10 in a row.

    best regards, jelle

    Hello Victoria
https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8u4mXE9 It’s still using the 180x180px so it looks blurry
yes, ive choosen the 180×180 as the 300×300 does not dislay square thumbs.

ive made a temporary User account

    Hi yampieters,

    Thank you.

Original images are not square and so the thumbs are not square. You might want to use big square images for the gallery or be ok with the rectangle thumbs.

    Victoria

Hello Victoria, thanks for the reply.
but the same not-square-images dó display square in 180×180 thumbs.
Thats a bit confusing, i think.
Why are the 180x180thumbs come out square and 300x300thumbs dont ?
    best regards, jelle

    Hi yampieters,

80×80 crops the image while all the other thumbs just scale it using the original aspect ratio.

aha, ok. Thanks! Didnt know that.
There might be anothter way…crop the images yourself in photoshop and link them to the big ones….
