Hi,
The main language of my site is Catalan. I’m now translating it into Spanish using WPML and, so far, almost everything looks good (posts, pages, portfolio items, etc) but the main blog page doesn’t show any results in Spanish. Here I enclose a few screen shots so you can see the problem:
Here is the main blog page in Catalan
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9EeARPNJNFyY3BLZUg4S1Atdk0/edit?usp=sharingHere is the main blog page in Spanish with the warning: No resuts were found!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9EeARPNJNFybkZlbHFoMVN0Smc/edit?usp=sharingHere is the backend in Catalan
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9EeARPNJNFyZHN2X1pPcFRNOXc/edit?usp=sharingAnd in Spanish where you can see is identical to the Catalan counterpart
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9EeARPNJNFyeG00eEdfS0JvMDg/edit?usp=sharingI have a posts slider on the home page, and that, curiously, shows the blog posts correctly in both languages. Here is a screenshot of the Spanish homepage showing the a row of posts.

Thank you

Thank you for using the theme!
Please make sure that you translate the posts categories properly. Refer to this link for more info: http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-post-categories-and-custom-taxonomies/
Best regards,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question,
You were right in the fact that I hadn’t traslated the categories properly. I had just created new categories for each language. I have now solved this thanks to the information on the link you provided.
Unfortunatly, this hasn’t solved the problem. When I click on blog from the Spanish site it still gives no results. Any clues on what can be causing the problem?
Regards

Please update WPML to version 3.1.5. You’re using 3.0.2 which is very outdated.
Best regards,
PeterMay 16, 2014 at 5:55 pm #265892Hi Peter,
I did that and nothing has changed. Al WPML plugins are now updated and blog posts are not showing on the Spanish site.
I have used the avia layout builder to display blog posts on two places, the homepage through a “Post Slider”, and on the Blog’s main page through a “Blog Posts” content element. Non of them show the posts on the Spanish site but they work fine on the Catalan site.
Thanks again

Please click the “Translate independently” button: http://www.clipular.com/c/4673705724608512.png?k=0JgIrSOUpHKLo5oIjhbT1mPAbY8 (I already did that for you on the Spanish homepage here: http://cuinestramuntana.com/?lang=es and then configure the post slider categories. They vary from the Catalan post slider (different ids, etc.). The same procedure is required on the Spanish blog page here: http://cuinestramuntana.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3000&action=edit&lang=es
Cheers!
PeterMay 17, 2014 at 8:37 pm #266177Hi Dude,
I have done what you suggested and nothing has changed. I clicked the “Translate Independently” button and no results are displayed.
In relation to the categories, Ismael had already poited that out before and I followed the link he sent and followed the instructions. I’m pretty sure the categories are properly configured and I believe this not to be the source of the problem.
I just can’t see what can be causing this issue.
Cheeres.
TomeuMay 18, 2014 at 10:25 am #266256Hey!
Ok – it seems to be a plugin conflict between “The Events Calendar” plugin and WPML. I deactivated the events calendar plugin and the post query on the blog page started to work. I recommend to contact the developers of the events calendar plugin and to ask them to debug the issue…
Update – it seems like the events calendar plugin is not fully compatible with WPML: https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/version-3-wpml-ready/ – probably you need t switch to another plugin…
Cheers!
