Hello!
I’ve just published today’s blog:
and when I try to share on Facebook, using either the FB button at the foot of the blog, or just sharing directly by cutting and pasting the URL into a Facebook post, it’s not working like usual. It’s not pulling the URL, it’s not linking to the blog, it’s not pulling the featured image.
When I put the URL through the Facebook debugger, it gives me this warning message:
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Can you help?
Thanks,
CorrinaOctober 4, 2016 at 7:54 pm #695207Hey CorrinaGB!
That is an issue with the og:meta. You need to wait a bit for them to update, as for a reason of cache you might see bad results.
If it works on some articles and others not, it is not a theme issue so we can not be sure how to help furtherCheers!
BasilisOctober 4, 2016 at 9:35 pm #695257Thanks. I haven’t had to wait before, and it’s now been several hours – is this normal?
With other blog posts on my site, published previously, I get this error message with the Facebook debugger program:
The ‘fb:app_id’ property should be explicitly provided, Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog.
Thanks again in advance,
CorrinaOctober 5, 2016 at 9:01 am #695357Hi,
You can try running the URL through the Facebook debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
Thanks,

I have the same problem as Corrina. When I share the blog post on facebook it just shares a link to the website – no image, post title or excerpt. I have tried everything suggested on forums and searched for a fix but still no resolve. Th Facebook debugger is giving me the following warnings:Inferred Property
The ‘og:url’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

The ‘og:title’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

You can use Yoast SEO, to support og:type and then run through the URL that Richard suggested, to get things solved
Best regards,
