Hi, I hope somebody can help here…. be gentle with me as I am not very techie!!
I apologise if this isn’t the right place to ask for help, not sure where else to go now as I have been trying for days to fix this problem.I have 3 websites all using 3 seperate licence copies on Enfold. I really like it & I can understand how to make changes. All 3 sites have the same Plugins, 2 sites are working perfectly
http://www.ianskeltonphotography.com being my oldest site & this has the problem.I have all my sites use the same Blog Page layout, using the Masonry with 4 columns & 16 items per page. You can view how it looks on my other site http://www.motorsportphotographer.co.uk
This was how the original site was up to a week ago. I noticed it had changed to one long thread layout for the Blog…so you have to scroll through it all posts to find one you want to read. Whereas it used to be laid out as in the grid format so you could see 16 & choose 1 to read. I didn’t make this change…I wouldn’t know how to anyway!!!When I logged in to WP Dashboard, I could see all my Pages, Blogs, Portfolio as normal but when I clicked on anything to edit it, I got a total white blank page. This was on everything, every item… I could click & delete but not enter to edit.
I asked WP forums, they said it was likely a Plugin compatibility issue until I reminded them they all have the same plugins. I was told to follow a video of how to change all but 2 (Content Folder & a config file) of the core files of the latest WP5.1 It scared the hell out of me as I don’t understand it, I think I had to go to a cPanel (hope thats the right term) Anyway, I followed it slowly step by step & it made no difference.
Eventually after 2 days of calls to my website host (BT) they said they made an internal adjustment & it was able to access everything to edit again.Fantastic I thought, in I went but all my Blog lay out settings were the same as my other website. I changed the number of columns, the number of items per page, just to see what happened….but the appearance stayed the same, 1 long thread of each Blog post one after the other.
I really don’t know what to do now….& I don’t understand it either to be honest. I look after my site very simply just add or clone pages & posts that were done for me originally. I have no experience of code etc
I would really appreciate some help please of how to fix this problem.
Thank you

March 14, 2019 at 9:03 am #1078593Hey 1anskelt0n,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field. Can you please be more specific which part is not working for you right now?
Best regards,

Thank you for replying to my support message.
It is fixed…but I have no clue how!!!
I am suspecting that this whole thing was caused by my website hosts. After 2 days they said they had made “internal adjustments” goodness knows what that means but it did allow me access to edit posts on my website.
They said that they would continue to look into how or why the Blog layout appearance had changed, but I have no further communication from them.I tried changing, saving, clear cache, log back in & then changing back my Blog layout but nothing altered the appearance.
That is until yesterday, when I tried various things again, only this time they actually made the changes stick. So I put back the grid configurations settings I use on my other website which was how this website should be & BOOM, fixed!!!I can’t explain it & I don’t understand this clever web stuff anyway so I would probably be no use to you if I tried to.
My hosts obviously did something at their end that broke it. They mentioned about on 1st March the no longer supported something & only now PHP-CGI 7.1 & 7.2 (that may mean something to you)
I don’t know what that is, but 1st March was in middle of a 5 day photography trip that I know my website was working before but not after my return.I see today a new WP 5.1.1 came out ….I’m scared to update in incase it breaks everything again :))
Thank you for your reply, I will be sure to shout much earlier for help next time
Ian
