    I’m using the blog masonry layout, but the white overlay effect doesn’t seem to work. I’ve choose this option, but I don’t see it working. Don’t know if this is a caching problem or maybe I’m missing something here. I’ve absolutely no clue :).

    Hey Wouter,

    All other effects seem to work, but not the white overlay.

    Please deactivate all plugins one by one to check which one is causing this issue and let us know if this solves the problem.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    There are no plugins active. Any other suggestions?

    Hi wvanderzee,

    Could you please enable the Advanced Layout Builder debug mode. Here is how to do it:
    https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    I’ve enabled it. Do I need to copy/paste the debug info here?

    Hi wvanderzee,

    I was looking at the shortcode output to see why it is missing. Can you please create a test page with this masonry and nothing else.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    I’ve made a test page, see link in private content. Seems to work?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

    Where did you set the “white overlay” option? We can’t find that option in our own installation. You can either set the caption to display as an overlay or place it at the bottom of the masonry image. Those are the only option for the element’s caption by default. We set the element’s Element Captions > Element Title and Excerpt Styling to the second option or as overlay. (see private field)

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    It’s not the Caption option. It’s in the Masonry element module, see: https://ibb.co/GF4gGTx.

    What I expect from this “white overlay” effect is something like here: https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-2017/blog/blog-default/. When you hover a blog item, a white overlay is visible.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

    The demo contains the Blog Posts element set as a grid layout. It’s not a Masonry element.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Ok, I understand that’s not a Masonry element.

    But how does the “white overlay” option for the Masonry element look like? I’ve fixed the link for the screenshot, see my reply above.

    With a white overlay I expect some transparent white overlay on the image. But that is not visible. Can you explain me what the effect “white overlay” does?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

    As we explained previously, there is no “white overlay” option in the masonry element. You can only set the caption above an overlay or below the featured image.

    Ismael

    Sorry, I don’t understand. Do you mean that the option that’s offered is not working or that there’s no option at all?

    Because I’ve the option “white overlay” for my Blog Masonry module. So, there’s my confusion. Sorry to bother you with this.

    #1097508

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

    The overlay is a default effect of post items in a Blog Posts element, so you don’t have to toggle any settings for that “white overlay” effect to display. This is true as long as you’re using the Blog Posts and not the Masonry element. Those are two different builder elements. And there is no element called “Blog Masonry” in the builder.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    I find it very confusing. See this screenshot for the Masonry element for displaying the blog.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

    That particular element doesn’t contain a “white overlay” option. You need to use the “Blog Posts” element if you want the same effect from the demo.

    // https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-2017/blog/blog-default/

    Set the Blog Layout settings to “Grid Layout”.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Sorry, it’s still not clear for me. Please forget about the blog posts element. This is only about the Masonry element. I’ll try to explain it best as I can:

    – I’ve created a page with the Masonry element (see link in private content)
    – In the Masonry element panel, there’s an option called Image effect
    – Image effect has a dropdown menu with the following options: White overlay, Greyscale effect, Desaturation effect etc..
    – All effects seem to work, except the White overlay

    With the White overlay effect I expect a semi transparent white colour on the image. But that isn’t the case. How can I apply the White overlay effect?

    #1101782

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

    Sorry about that. I didn’t know that there is a new “Image Effect” option in that element or I just forgot it completely. Anyway, I checked the page and the css code for the white overlay effect is missing. Please add this css code to bring the effect back.

    #top .av-hover-overlay-white.av-caption-style-overlay .av-masonry-item-with-image:hover .av-inner-masonry-content {
        background: rgba(255,255,255,0.35);
    }

    We’ll report the issue. Again, thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    It’s ok! Thanks for the update and code.
