The two most recent blog images are larger than the rest for some reason. As far as I can tell they should be the same, featured images are the same sizes, etc.

May 23, 2018 at 3:55 pm #960881Hi mlebarron,
That is really weird, did it start happening after some update? Did you have ShortPixel installed by then already?
Best regards,
VictoriaMay 23, 2018 at 4:04 pm #960893It was like that before the update. Shortpixel is installed right now but I don’t think it’s doing anything since we hit the credit limit. Happy to turn it off entirely if that could be the issue. It appears that everything is the same between the different posts, but yeah, the images show up differently and I’m stumped :(
May 24, 2018 at 5:59 am #961347Hi,
I checked your site and the blog images appear to be of the same size. You may not see the changes until the cached files are cleared in your browser.
Please perform the below steps to clear the browser cache:
1. Disable “merging and compression” for CSS and JS files from Enfold > Performance.
2. If a caching plugin is installed check the plugin settings and clear the cache and deactivate the plugins for testing purpose.
3. Hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F5 on your browser or press the F12 key to open chrome dev tools and right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”.
Best regards,
VinayMay 24, 2018 at 5:33 pm #961728Yeah they are the same size now because I changed the setting to specify the size. When I was using “Set preview size automatically” they were different sizes, despite there being no obvious reason why.
It’s not ideal, there’s clearly something wrong with the automatic preview size function on the site, but it kind of works for now.
May 24, 2018 at 11:42 pm #961886Hi,
The automatic size option keeps the image width same and scale the height proportionately. It is more like masonry grids you get to see on sites like Pinterest.
I’m glad the specific size option works for you well :)Best regards,
VinayMay 25, 2018 at 12:01 am #961890Yeah that’s the thing, no it doesn’t. If you see my screenshot above in dropbox, the images are different sizes on the blog, even though they are all actually the same size when uploaded.
The specific size option isn’t what I want to use, I want auto sizing, but that’s not working correctly.
If I switch the blog back to auto sizing, the images go back to being different sizes for no apparent reason.

May 28, 2018 at 9:04 am #962993Hi,
Are you sure that the size of the posts’ featured images are the same? The grid won’t look like the screenshot if that’s the case. Please edit the blog posts’ element then look for the “Preview Image Size” settings. Set it to “manual” or the second option then select the appropriate thumbnail size.
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 28, 2018 at 11:32 pm #963461Yes, they’re the same size. The point is I don’t want to set the size manually, I want it to auto set the size based on column width, and that should work, but it’s not. Setting it to manual shouldn’t be the fix just because auto isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do.
May 31, 2018 at 6:36 am #964632Hi,
The issue is not that the blog is not setting the appropriate thumbnail, the actual issue is that the thumbnails of the newest posts are resized differently. Did you adjust the size of the “portfolio” thumbnail recently? We used the recent images for “Ironside Tech Tip: OpenID Connect Integration with Cognos Analytics Part 2” post. The size of the thumbnail is 495x230px instead of 495x300px.
Please reset the featured image of the “6 Key Principles of a Modern FP&A Function” because I forget the name of the actual featured image. Sorry about that.
Best regards,
Ismael -
