    Hi —

A blog site I had set up a couple months ago seems to have lost the “comments” section. There are no opportunities to add discussion, even though the “Allow Comments” checkbox is check in the “Discussion” section on the individual blog entries in question, and the overall “Settings –> Discussion” is set to “Allow people to post comments on new articles”.

I had experimented with using Avia Layout Builder (“Advanced Layout Editor”) to add a Gallery, but didn’t understand what was going on and went back to the default WordPress Gallery instead. (I had found that editing with Avia made sections of the blog entry disappear, as if it were a page instead of a blog entry).

Here’s a sample page where the Discussion section is missing:

And here’s a page where it used to be, but the ability to add comments has been “closed” although previous comments remain.

Is there a setting that got messed up? How do I get comments back? Thanks!

    -Brad

OK, I don’t have many plugins — though iThemes Security may be an interaction? You have permission to change as needed, but please let me know…I’ll post login info in the private field below…

    Hi,

does this happen when activating a default WP theme as well?

Ask your host if they’re using any caching on your server and tell them to deactivate it.

However, there might be some corrupted files, so please delete all theme files completely via FTP, before installing a fresh copy from your themeforest account. Here is a short tutorial on how to install the theme via FTP, in case you are not sure how that works:

    Best regards,
    Andy
