    Hi,

    I was looking to get everything up to date, so have update my PHP to 7.1, WordPress to 5.5 and then was looking to do Enfold. Once logging back in, it was not possible to do this within WordPress, so downloaded the most current version of Enfold and uploaded it via FTP. This created the website to just have a blank black screen.

    Following this I have resorted it back to the old version of Enfold via ftp but now when I go to update any page I get a critical error from WordPress. I need to get this updated so the theme works again as it should. Can you please help with what is happening here?

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for that. Would it be ok if we try to activate the latest version of the theme to see which errors you are getting then, if any? If we’re allowed to do that then please verify that you have backups of the site, in case you should have to roll back.

    Also, do you know which version of PHP you are running on the server?

    Hi Matt,

    I did a live preview of the latest version and your site just shows up blank unfortunately, so it feels a bit risky to actually activate that version of the theme. Would you be able to copy the site to a staging environment, so that we can update there first? That way we don’t risk the live site being down.

    Hi visualabmedia,

    I have checked it and I get this error in the console:

    post.php?post=147&action=edit:237 Uncaught TypeError: $(...).pointer is not a function

    The issue most likely is compatibility and I’m not really sure if we got the right version of jQuery which would most likely take some time, we would not get another issue.
    The only option I could recommend is to update everything, WordPress, Enfold, Plugins, PHP version but this would also take some risk like the site could potentially be down for several minutes or probably an hour or some things might be messed up.
    If you can give us cPanel access to your site, we’ll try do the update for you.

    Hi visualabmedia,

    Thanks, you’re site is now working using Enfold 4.7.6.3, WordPress 5.5.1 and PHP 7.2
    The Blank Screen after updating is caused by THB Portfolio plugin (deactivated this plugin).
    LayerSlider WP is also causes some warnings because it’s not updated and still 5.5.0, since it doesn’t seem to be used it’s deactivated as well.
    WP Downgrade | Specific Core Version is also deactivated (preventing updates)
    Chimpy is causing a minor warnings as well, but I haven’t deactivated since it can be ignored and also I’m not sure if it’s used.
    You can change passwords now and remove temporary admin access.
