best way to change color of svg icon images

In customizing the enfold theme I’m running into background images in svg. For example, the breadcrumb icon.

What’s the easiest way to change the color of the image? I tried changing the decimal fill values but that didn’t work. It made the icon disappear. Thanks for the help!
