Hi, do you know how can I make product image look better?
My client wants to have an image with texts in place of a product image, but the visulization of it is very bad.
Is there a way to make it look better?
I´ve used svg files in the past but someone told me they are dangerous concerning the web security.

    Thanks!

    Hey cipriana,

Your question is rather general, could you specify exactly what you need help with please? Also, in what way are svg files a security risk?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Hi, I send you a screenshot of the image I want to optimize. That image has a very bad visualization. It seems as pixelated, texts look bad.

As for the svg files here I send to you a link to an article (it´s in spanish I´m afraid) about the security risks they involve.

    Hi,

Thanks for the screenshot and link. First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.2) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

It´s not possible for me to update the theme now.
But do you think that may be the problem? Because in that case I will do it as soon as I can.
But If you have another suggestion it will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi cipriana,

Theme update will not help you here. The image is 120x118px and is shown at 300px, it’s size and quality are not good enough to be shown at such scale.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    I don´t understand you Victoria.
The image is 346 x 342 px at 72 dpi.
Are we speaking of same image? I mean the image with the texts, the one showed in my screenshot.
    thanks!

    Hi cipriana,

The image used on the page is 120x118px. Here are the settings

Looks like the tumb is chosen instead of the actual image.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

Hi Victoria, I don´t know how I could chose tumb, since I have no option. But nonetheless I´ve changed product images to 450 px and now it´s much better.
    Thank you very much!!

    Hi cipriana,

The thing is that when the media library opens, sometimes it’s hard to see which image is which size and you end up choosing the wrong size. :)

Glad you got it working for you! :)

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

Mmm, no Victoria, I only have one image in the media library. So I can only chose the only one I have. Unless the theme resizes the image in some way…

    Thanks

    Hi cipriana,

Yes, the theme and WooCommerce can generate thumbs.
