I’ve added a Vimeo video as the background for a color section. It will loop on all browsers except Mac Safari (I’ve tested versions 9 and 10). I’ve also tried with a self-hosted mp4 file and it also will not loop. It just stops on the last frame and stays there. It loops on Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera, just not Safari. My client is a Mac Safari user, so she is not happy at my lack of an explanation. Do you have any ideas? Thanks for your help,
January 6, 2017 at 3:37 pm #730386Hello? Anyone there? I could use some help here!
January 6, 2017 at 5:46 pm #730433This is my first posting. I see other posters get moderator replies within a few minutes, yet no one has even acknowledged my post. Sorry for whining, but I could really use some help here. We use Enfold on several sites for our clients. Thanks!

January 7, 2017 at 12:36 am #730573normal share (embed) code of vimeo looks this way:
http://vimeo.com/1084537
or
https://vimeo.com/39252414
your code looks this way:
https://player.vimeo.com/video/198220037
this will not work ! :
https://vimeo.com/198220037
maybe this is a setting problem because f.e.
https://vimeo.com/39252414?loop=1&autoplay=1
(this is only for beeing shure – i guesshttps://vimeo.com/39252414
will do the job too)
here: https://webers-testseite.de/ikom/full-slider-with-content/
this loop works well on safari tooAre you having a Plus, Pro or Business Account on Vimeo? and you can set up the options for each video?

January 7, 2017 at 1:43 am #730580Thanks for your reply! The code I’m pasting in is http://vimeo.com/198220037. I don’t know where the URL is converted to player.vimeo.com. It loops properly in all other browsers I’ve tried, both Mac and Windows. It also doesn’t loop in Safari with a self-hosted mp4 file. I’m really stumped and hope the theme developers may have some insight.
January 7, 2017 at 2:33 pm #730707January 7, 2017 at 2:49 pm #730710so for a non member of vimeo – you link goes to nowwhere. Thats the point for me to ask if you are a pro or business member. Than there are possibilities to set up for each video permissions. I don’t know if Safari uses the same player type as the other ones (html5 etc. )
This code above https://player.vimeo.com/video/198220037 is in your source code of your site. That is the only reason why i mentioned it.
January 7, 2017 at 2:56 pm #730711did you change anything on the link above? because now a lightbox opens – but if you open the link in a new tab the result is the image above?
January 7, 2017 at 3:39 pm #730717please try to insert this code: on Safari Developer Preview it sometimes loops ( i don’t know why it works not allways)
https://player.vimeo.com/video/198220037?title=0&autoplay=1&loop=1&autopause=0
On Safari the same – it seems to have something to do with screen height to width value (https://kriesi.at/support/topic/background-video-only-loops-at-100/)
if you shrink or stretch browser window it sometimes starts again ???

January 7, 2017 at 6:41 pm #730737The video is private on Vimeo, you can only view it if you’re me. I don’t believe this problem has anything to do with Vimeo, because it works just the same with a mp4 file. You may have something with the height and width. Where are the moderators to offer help?
January 7, 2017 at 7:15 pm #730746but different movies do loop on background with vimeo and Safari? – So where is the difference ?
https://webers-testseite.de/ikom/full-slider-with-content/
this is a vimeo video inserted as background video to a color section. My suggestion was that your video is not a public one – like the one in the example above.
Btw : this seems not to be a problem with Enfold than with Safari or IOS devices. Google is full of questions concerning to that loop-problematic.
January 8, 2017 at 12:18 am #730765https://developer.vimeo.com/player/embedding
If the owner of a video is a Plus member, some of these settings may be overridden by their preferences.
January 8, 2017 at 1:27 am #730769No videos will loop in Safari if placed as the background in an Enfold color section. I don’t know how to make it any clearer. It’s not specific to Vimeo.
January 8, 2017 at 4:08 pm #730869and how do i make it clearer that this here is a vimeo video:
https://webers-testseite.de/ikom/full-slider-with-content/
placed as background in color-section and it does loop in Safari (iMac and MacBook OSX Sierra)So i’m looking to – what is the difference on those two videos ? Both on vimeo – both as background !
And by the way concerning to ipad, iphone etc: https://help.vimeo.com/hc/en-us/articles/224983008-Defaulting-playback-for-embedded-videos
Important: Please be aware that autoplay and loop will not work on most mobile devices.

January 11, 2017 at 5:15 am #731832Hi,
The data-loop attribute is set to “1” which means that the loop parameter is enabled. In the safari browser inspector console, do you see any errors or notifications? Did you add any modifications to the theme?
Best regards,
IsmaelJanuary 11, 2017 at 1:09 pm #732025well i got the Layerslider Vers. 6 – and on that (hope Enfold would soon update that part) it is possible to declare a video as Slider Background !
Look here the selfhosted video of your vimeo file. – I will delete it after you have seen it on Safari looping !
i will try now to look if a vimeo link will do the job too.https://webers-testseite.de/ikom/video/
Edit: it does not work with vimeo hosted file! on that solution
And great advantage is that the slider is responsive !- This reply was modified 7 years, 10 months ago by Guenni007.
January 11, 2017 at 11:05 pm #732362And by the way – i uploaded your video to youtube – normal without beeing a special member – it works
and if you input the code in this way: https://videourl?rel=0&autoplay=1&loop=1&autopause=0
it works in safari. So thats all from me – i will now delete the youtube upload ! thanks for your patient listening!
And i delete the selfhosted upload now.Solution for you might be :
buy or wait til enfold updates Layerslider
upload your video free to youtube – very simple and embed the video with settings above.- This reply was modified 7 years, 10 months ago by Guenni007.
March 30, 2017 at 6:21 pm #769565We have the exact same Problem with Background-Videos. On Chorme/Firefox/Edge the MP4 Videos are looping without problems. Only on OSX/Safari it plays only once and stops. (Sierra 10.12.4 / Safari 10.1)
Newest Enfold Version 4.0.4, nothing changed.March 30, 2017 at 8:14 pm #769593Hi,
I`ve checked your site and I just refreshed the page and video looping are working normally. Did you try to clear your cache?
Best regards,
John TorvikApril 1, 2017 at 8:18 pm #770409For those running into this issue while directly linking to an MP4, add this to your Google Analytics Tracking Code window under Enfold > Theme Options:
<script> jQuery( document ).ready(function() { jQuery('.avia_video').attr('loop', 'true'); }); </script>
