    On my website, I have large background images in colour sections on each page. When you load the page for the first time the images start off pixellated and then load abruptly. On your Restaurant demo you have something similar but your images don’t start pixellated, they fade in elegantly. How can I achieve this?

    Hey mosaic,

    It might be because of your image optimisation plugin. Could you try disabling that, then upload the image in question again, and try setting it without any alteration to it?

    That has helped, thank you, but there is still a bit of an issue. If you check the link in private content (the Apply Now) page you can see that when the page loads the image loads from top to bottom and also the animation heading is a little buggy – the animation isn’t smooth.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update. I’m not sure why the animation is a bit choppy, but it could be because of the new jQuery version in WordPress. Please try installing this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/, then set the jQuery version to 1.12.4 in the plugin options. It could be your caching plugin as well, please try deactivating that, if the jQuery plugin doesn’t help.

    Hi, I tried using the jquery plugin as you suggested but that made no difference, I also tried removing the caching plugin but that didn’t work either.

    Sorry the site went down but it’s back up now. Please check again. You’ll see all the animation is choppy and slow. I’m using chrome by the way

    On some pages it all looks good. On the page linked in private content I’m still finding that background image of the color section is loading in jagged stages rather than smoothly appearing all at once, which seems in turn to be slowing down the animation of the text.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update. So what is different between that page, and the pages where you are not seeing this behaviour? We can’t do much about how one particular image is loaded unfortunately, the behaviour can be different on each load.
